The One-Sided Din Over Taxes
By Robert Knight   |   01.11.18
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, a phrase from Simon and Garfunkel’s song “The Boxer” sums up why America’s division into two warring worldviews seems to be widening. “A man hears what he wants to hear...
Cultural Marxism and Its Discontents
By Robert Knight   |   11.16.17
The deadly Islamic terrorist truck attack in New York City on Halloween exposed a cauldron of issues, from national security to immigration policy. But it’s about much more than that. The attack and its aftermath have shone a light on the Left’s campaign to radically transform America through cultural Marxism. That’s the revolutionary philosophy that aims to cure inequality by destroying traditional Western culture.
Whackapedia?
By Robert Knight   |   11.13.17
As a Wikipedia editor, I’ve made many edits and updates over the years to the American Civil Rights Union’s Wikipedia page without interference. So, imagine my shock...
The Uses and Abuses of Hate
By Robert Knight   |   10.19.17
Given its prominence in current public discourse, one would think that hate, not love, is a many splendored thing. The perfectly good word, which oozes out of every media pore, is now so overused that it means next to nothing.  ...
How The ‘Revolution’ Is Eating Its Own
By Robert Knight   |   10.13.17
At a forum at the College of William & Mary on Sept. 27, the ACLU got a sample of what conservatives have been experiencing on campuses for years. As Claire Gastanaga, executive director of the ACLU of Virginia, began speaking...
Vote Fraudsters Double Their Opportunities
By Robert Knight   |   09.25.17
The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity has held only two public meetings so far, but it’s already netted a haul of eye-opening data. At last Tuesday’s meeting in New Hampshire, Ken Block, a data mining expert and former adjunct...
What Have Liberals Got to Hide?
By Robert Knight   |   09.06.17
Progressives are in an uproar over the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, and we have to ask why? They claim creating an election integrity commission is a way to advance voter suppression. They truly fear the findings of this commission, and want to disband it as soon as possible.
Silencing the Silencers
By Robert Knight   |   07.14.17
Frustrated by its inability to win elections, the left is attempting to silence opponents through intimidation, either in the streets or in the courts. The latest example is the hijacking of Guidestar USA by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Guidestar is a database of more than 2 million nonprofit and non-governmental (NGO) organizations. It's considered the foremost authority on nonprofits, and had a self-avowed reputation for "remaining neutral."
There’s a Method to the Political Correct (PC) Madness
By Robert Knight   |   05.13.17
Many years ago, I witnessed what happens when people who prevent others from speaking are not dealt with promptly. During a “Firing Line” taping with William F. Buckley at Bard College in New York State on the topic of “Resolved: The ACLU is full of baloney” (the short answer is “yes”), two female activists stood up and started chanting “women of color have no voice.”
A Question of Lawful Authority
By Robert Knight   |   04.06.17
Baseball season gets underway this week, a welcome distraction from the political battles in Washington. Meanwhile, the U.S. Senate is warring over the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.  The Republicans say he’s a stellar nominee, a judicial umpire...
Restoring Justice
By Robert Knight   |   01.19.17
Eric Holder and Loretta E. Lynch have been perhaps the most flagrant partisans ever to hold the office of attorney general. Year after year, they rubber stamped whatever the Obama administration wanted to do, legally or otherwise. So it was...
Yes, there Is Scouting Life after the Scouts
By Robert Knight   |   09.19.16
Under the radar, near a campfire, a counter-cultural force is rising. Only three years old, Trail Life USA, the Christian answer to the politically correct Boy Scouts of America, is operating 700 troops in 48 states, with nearly 30,000 troop...
Loretta Lynch’s Abuse of the Law
By Robert Knight   |   05.19.16
When Loretta Lynch succeeded Eric Holder as U.S. attorney general a year ago, some harbored the tiniest hope that she wouldn’t be quite as radical. After all, Mr. Holder had done his best to gin up racial resentment, dismiss a...
The Progressive ‘Super Story’ That Wasn’t
By Robert Knight   |   11.18.15
Media bias is less about slanted stories than about what’s covered – or not. For example, when a Muslim extremist cut off a woman co-worker’s head in Oklahoma City in September 2014, there was minimal coverage. A year later, the...
