If you have not yet responded to this call-to-action, or even if you have, it is imperative that his office hears from us emphatically and frequently. The top priority during the summer is HB 1785 -- it MUST be vetoed!

On Friday, July 14, the Chicago Tribune published an article by Angie Leventis Lourgos titled, “‘My last resort’ — thousands come to Illinois to have abortions.” Never have I read a more stunning example of Isaiah 5:20. The stories told in the article, coupled with the story told in the accompanying video, are wholly, viscerally repugnant.

America was very far from perfect in the early 1960s. In much of the nation segregation was the law of the land and women certainly had far less opportunities than men, just to mention two of society’s inequities. And I’m quite aware the first issue of Playboy, featuring Marilyn Monroe in the nude, was published in 1953. At the same time, there’s no denying that America back then was a far more innocent, family friendly country than it is today.

Frustrated by its inability to win elections, the left is attempting to silence opponents through intimidation, either in the streets or in the courts. The latest example is the hijacking of Guidestar USA by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Guidestar is a database of more than 2 million nonprofit and non-governmental (NGO) organizations. It's considered the foremost authority on nonprofits, and had a self-avowed reputation for "remaining neutral."

In our mad, mad, mad, mad world, Canadian mother Kori Doty hopes to raise her child, named Searyl Atli but called Sea, in such a way that baby Sea’s objective biological sex will have no meaning relative to Sea’s “gender identity.” Doty’s dream for her child is that he or she be free to “self determine their own gender” at some undetermined time in the future. And by “they” Doty means Sea. Although, Doty can’t yet...
