What is True?
By Thomas Hampson   |   07.16.24
Our understanding of what we think is true constantly changes. At least, it does if we continue to learn. When I was in high school, for example, my science textbook unequivocally stated that the entire universe consisted of 16 galaxies.  Period.  Now, more than sixty years later, we do not know how many galaxies there are.
Speak the Truth in Love
By Kenna Rose   |   07.15.24
Public discourse is frequently angry, full of yelling, name-calling, and “gotcha” statements. There’s no love and often little truth in the interaction. Christians are supposed to be different.
You Cannot Homeschool
By Ecce Verum   |   07.13.24
A homeschool advocate acquainted with an IFI staff member recently answered over 150 Facebook messages about homeschooling.  "It's just blowing up!" the advocate said. "Lots and lots of parents from central and southern IL wanting out." Homeschooling has been around for a few decades now, and it has made significant advances in quality and acceptability over the years, but it usually seems to have been relegated to the academic fringes.

Patience and Perseverance Key to Pulling Down Strongholds
By Walker Wildmon   |   07.07.24
If you had surveyed the public a decade ago and asked whether they believed Roe v. Wade would be overturned, a majority would have emphatically said, “No.” Even to the most optimistic person, this seemed far-fetched as a possibility. But in 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned this stronghold of darkness called Roe v. Wade.
Tamela’s Story
By Alyssa Sonnenburg   |   06.26.24
Women are often told that abortion is their only option if they wish to pursue a career or get an education. “You will never have a career if keep your baby.” “You will never finish college if you choose to have your child.”
The Picture of Dorian Gray, Romans 6, and the Corruption of Pleasure.
By Kenna Rose   |   06.20.24
The titular character in The Picture of Dorian Gray is a charming young man whose beauty is only enhanced by his innocence. Unfortunately, he meets a man named Henry Wotton who introduces Dorian to the idea of hedonism, or living for selfish, sensual pleasures, and sparks in him a fear of losing his youth and beauty.

06.05.24
On June 24, 2022, the United States Supreme Court issued its opinion in the case of Dobbs vs Jackson Women’s “Health” Organization. The case moved the issue of abortion back into the States... Regardless of the state’s position, the Declaration of Independence made it clear that no legislative power exists that can deny the innocent the right to life as guaranteed by God, not man.
Mandated Indoctrination on Climate Change?
By David E. Smith   |   06.03.24
More than a few years ago, I was at lunch with an evangelist friend. After the meal, he handed our waitress a Gospel tract. I wanted to reinforce his compassion, so I told the young lady that her relationship with God was the most important thing in the world. She responded, “Yeah, that and global warming!” She proceeded to tell us that she wakes up in fear of what may happen to the earth during her lifetime. I was shocked.

By Alyssa Sonnenburg   |   05.28.24
On April 1, 2023 (making many wonder if it was an April Fool’s joke), popular transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney shared a sponsored post in partnership with Bud Light with nods to March Madness and his continuing personal documentary, “365 Days of Girlhood.” In June of 2023, Target released its highly controversial Pride merchandise line, including “tuck-friendly” swimsuits for transgender “women” (biological men).

Earlier today, the Chicago City Council heard a proposal to institute a "quiet zone" around a particular abortion facility in the city to muzzle pro-lifers reaching out to abortion-bound mothers. Thankfully, this controversial proposal was deferred.
