Addiction: Big Marijuana Targeting Children
By Kathy Valente   |   08.14.18
Illinois' senior U.S. Senator, Dick Durbin, recently introduced legislation in Washington, D.C. to crack down on flavored tobacco in e-cigarettes. He believes Big Tobacco is marketing to children with flavors like cake batter, whipped cream and gummy bears. As a mother and grandmother, I applaud his efforts. But there’s another industry targeting kids right under our adult noses - Big Marijuana.
A Prayer for Illinois

What Jo McGuire reports from Colorado is truly shocking. Illinois residents must understand the consequences of this foolish policy and speak out before it is too late.

Persuading Illinois Voters to Avoid a Treacherous Pot Hole
By Kathy Valente   |   01.23.18
Left-wing state lawmakers from Chicago want to legalize "recreational" marijuana throughout Illinois, and their allies in the media only seem to want to collude in advancing this ominous agenda.  Many proponents simply view the illegal controlled substance as a revenue source to help bail them out of years of reckless overspending.  Yet we do not have to look far to discover overwhelming and alarming consequences of legalization from other states///

IFI Director of Operations
Kathy Valente

Kathy joined the IFI team as our Director of Operations in 2008. Previously, Kathy was the state director for Concerned Women for America for 4 years. But even before that, Kathy and Dave worked together as volunteer activists battling pornography and obscenity in the public square.

Kathy has consistently taken a stand for traditional Judeo-Christian values and has worked tirelessly to foster a wholesome environment for family living, advocating for high community standards.

Kathy recognizes that sexual immorality, pornography, obscenity, promiscuity, state sanctioned abortion and gambling threaten the moral fabric of our society. The well being of our communities, the strength of our families, and the hearts, minds, lives and souls of our children are at risk when traditional values and high community standards are abandoned.

Kathy was married to her late husband for over 31 years, is the mother of three adult children, grandmother of four and great grandmother of three.
