With just hours to go in the 2021 Spring legislative session, pro-abortion radicals are ramping up the pressure in an attempt to repeal our Parental Notice of Abortion Act. On Friday afternoon they sent an urgent message to their subscribers. Ironically, on that same day, the Chicago Tribune reported a 10 percent increase of abortions in Illinois, saying that while "the majority of these women resided in Illinois, more than 7,500 women came from other states to have an abortion in Illinois in 2019..."

In a May 12 appearance before the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, Xavier Becerra, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), repeatedly denied U.S. law banned partial birth abortions. The problem? U.S. law does ban partial birth abortions and Becerra himself even voted against the law.

Illinois State Senators Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) and Robert Martwick (D-Chicago) are sponsoring a bill (SB 109) that will change the "Practitioner's Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment" (POLST) form by removing the requirement that a witness sign the form. It’s hard to believe that our lawmakers in Springfield would be in favor of cutting parents out of the life of their daughters at a time when they most need their parent's counsel. But that is just what a group of legislators – one of whom is the Speaker of the Illinois House – are proposing in HB 1797 and SB 2190 in the Illinois Senate.
