There is a Biblical theology of charity for the poor, just as there is a Biblical theology of everything.

Not long ago, I lamented the Massachusetts legislature's bill attempt to redefine the nature of parenting. Touted as a needed "tune-up" to "outdated norms" in current family law, the bill was written to carefully scrub out offensive, archaic words like "paternity" and replace them with innocuous, up-to-date terms like "parentage."

Under the guise of “helping” parents deal with stress, the Biden administration is plotting a dramatic expansion of government into the home. In short, federal authorities are seeking to take on even more responsibilities traditionally associated with the family while drugging ever larger numbers of Americans.

If you can bear it, mentally jump back a few years to the time when Covid hysteria reigned supreme. Recall the slogan we constantly heard—"Mask up and stay safe, everyone!" I may have been the only one, but I did find this word choice a little odd. Isn't "stay healthy" the appropriate thing to say during the onset of a disease?

hicago has found a convenient time to finally do something about a homeless encampment—one that city leadership has already allowed to exist for years. For several years, a narrow strip of land nestled next to the Dan Ryan Expressway and Roosevelt road has been home to a veritable "tent city," one which has boasted up to 20–30 residents at times. However, a couple months before the Democratic National Convention is set to commence in Chicago, the city decided to permanently shut down this settlement.

The SHIELD Act (S.412) passed in the U.S. Senate in July. This bill would address image-based sexual abuse by establishing new laws to knowingly distribute sexually explicit content of an individual without their consent. It will also outlaw the distribution of pornographic images of minors that are intended to humiliate, harass, or degrade the minor. But, if S.412 passes the U.S. House and is signed into law, will it be enforced?

Bad ideas can often get accepted long after they were initially rejected. One generation recoils at a proposal. The next generation might cozy up to it. And the one after that might accept it.

The Secret Service has acknowledged their July 13th failure to protect former President Trump, and they are reportedly working to improve security protocols. The agency has increased the security detail for Trump and other high-profile political figures, and has been conducting a thorough review of its security practices to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Last Thursday, the United States House of Representatives passed the Title IX Congressional Review Act, which would legally block President Biden’s changes to Title IX, restoring privacy to women’s and girl’s private spaces.
