Despite the COVID-19 lockdown, Illinois House members are headed to Springfield for a Lame Duck session. State Senator Kimberly Lightford (D-Chicago) is working to expand the state's compulsory school attendance laws, and in the process, diminish the rights of parents. In February 2019, she introduced a bill to lower the mandatory age for school attendance in Illinois from 6 to 5 years of age. This bill passed the Illinois Senate and is now pending in the Illinois House.

I am a woman. I am also pro-life. Unfortunately, many people today see these identities as contradictory and antithetical. Over the past few decades, society has tried to force many women into a box: If you are a woman who is proud of your womanhood, you should support and advocate for abortion. If not, how can you be a true advocate for women? Supporting women has become synonymous with supporting abortion.

You see, Ms. Page has decided that she is actually a man.[i] Now it is Mr. Page, and in some locales saying “Ms. Page” is considered “misgendering hate speech.” Misgendering people in Norway,[ii] Scotland,[iii] Canada[iv] – or even New York[v] – could put you behind bars.
