Christians Must Build a Strong Biblical Worldview

Please mark your calendars for March 7, 2026, and join us in Downers Grove for IFI’s annual Worldview Conference featuring Dr. George Barna, Director of the National Marriage Project, along with our dear friends Pastor Ceasar LeFlore and Dr. Mark Zumhagen.

You don’t need me to tell you that biblical truth is under a relentless, coordinated assault. The fiery darts of lies, deception, and bad theology are targeting you, your family, and your church. Are you prepared to defend your faith—and teach your children to do the same?

And beyond that: Do you know how to respond to the cultural confusion swirling around us?

What Dr. Barna’s New Research Reveals

Dr. Barna’s latest national study—conducted for Family Research Council with the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University—unveils sobering trends within America’s churches. Even many regular church attenders are drifting. Fewer recognize the necessity of a biblical worldview, and certainty about Scripture is fading.

This raises a crucial question: Will Christians stand on God’s unchanging truth—or continue drifting with the world?

Here are some of the most striking findings from his survey of 1,000 churchgoing adults:

Biblical Worldview in Crisis

  • While 30% believe they have a biblical worldview, only 11% actually do.
  • The share who say a biblical worldview is “very important” has plummeted—from 59% in 2023 to less than half today.
  • Nearly half (45%) admit they do not have—or don’t know if they have—a worldview at all.

Moral Clarity Eroding

Churchgoers’ confidence in Scripture’s teaching on key moral issues has fallen sharply:

  • Homosexuality: 47% say the Bible speaks clearly
  • Transgenderism: 39%
  • Abortion: 51%

Confidence in Scripture Declining

  • Just 54% of churchgoers believe the Bible is the true or inspired, error-free Word of God.
  • Only 61% of churchgoers affirm belief in the God described in Scripture.
  • Even though two-thirds of adults say they identify as Christian, only 44% state that “God and the Bible” are their basis for truth.
  • Only 60% say it is very important for Christians to pray for Israel—even as global hostility intensifies.

A Church Drifting Toward Cultural Conformity

These findings expose a spiritual crisis within the American church. While almost all churchgoers are registered to vote and many closely follow the news, relatively few rely on biblical truth to shape their beliefs, values, and decisions.

There is no excuse for Christians being uninformed about foundational doctrines or how to apply them to everyday life. When believers minimize the importance of worldview, they inevitably live out a compromised, inconsistent faith.

This moment presents both a warning and an opportunity.

A Call to Courageous Leadership

Pastors, parents, teachers, and committed followers of Christ have an extraordinary opening to reassert the fundamentals of the Christian faith—clearly, unapologetically, and compassionately. Our culture is spiritually confused. The church must not be.

The IFI Worldview Conference exists for this very purpose: to equip believers with the truth, clarity, and courage necessary to live faithfully in hostile times.

Join us on March 7th in Downers Grove to strengthen your worldview, prepare your family with truth and to stand firm together on the unshakeable Word of God with other believers.
