On January 15th of this year, U.S. Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD) introduced S. 3667, the Life at Conception Act of 2026.
With thirteen co-sponsors, this legislation has its companion in the House. On January 24th, U.S. Representative Eric Burlison (R-MO) introduced H.R. 722.
The purpose of these federal bills is to confirm the United States Constitution’s affirmation of the right to life under the 14th Amendment and apply this fundamental right to the preborn life in the womb.
“This bill [H.R. 722] declares that the right to life guaranteed by the Constitution is vested in each human being at all stages of life, including the moment of fertilization, cloning, or other moment at which an individual comes into being.”
Put simply, no human being should be deprived of the right to life for any reason, including their birth status.
Section one of the 14th Amendment clearly states:
“nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
Science has been clear for decades upon decades. From the moment of fertilization, a unique human being is created with DNA that has never existed before and will never exist again. Because of this scientific truth, every preborn baby has a natural, God-given right to life and protection of that life.
No state, jurisdiction, country, government, politician, woman, or man has a right to deny or take that life.
The clarification of the 14th Amendment as it applies to preborn humans would protect them from the brutal and cruel murder of abortion.
Scripture declares that every baby in the womb has value to God (Psalm 82:3; Psalm 139:13-16; Isaiah 1:17; Jeremiah 1:5; Exodus 21:22-23) and we, as Christians, have a duty to protect them.
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?” ~Proverbs 24:11-12

MORE ACTION: Please pray that this legislation will successfully pass, and that the sanctity of all human life in the womb will be enshrined in our laws. Most of all, pray for the repentance of all those who seek to keep alive the culture of death in our nation. May they repent and turn to the One who forgives and cleanses (1 John 1:9).
