Planned Parenthood and Child Sacrifice

Throughout the Old Testament, there are references to the pagan god Molech, an ancient Canaanite deity associated with child sacrifice – a ritual that specifically required passing children through fire.

Child sacrifice to Molech was a detestable practice condemned by the Bible. According to Leviticus 18:21 and 20:2-5, the Israelites were forbidden to offer their children to Molech in worship. This practice was considered an abomination and punishable by death.

The Old Testament mentions Molech several times, usually in contexts condemning the practice:

Leviticus 18:21: “You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.”

2 Kings 23:10: King Josiah defiles Topheth in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom “that no one might burn his son or his daughter as an offering to Molech.”

Jeremiah 32:35: “They built the high places of Baal in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to offer up their sons and daughters to Molech, though I did not command them, nor did it enter into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.”

It is almost impossible not to connect the practice of child sacrifice to what Planned Parenthood is doing this week at the DNC Convention in Chicago. Planned Parenthood Great Rivers‘ mobile clinic announced on Aug. 14 on X, and later on Facebook, that it would offer free abortions and vasectomies in Chicago during the convention and even provided a link for registration.

This large RV mobile unit is set up near the United Center in the West Loop.

One might hope the response to this promotion would be low… but unfortunately, they are reporting a waiting list for vasectomy appointments due to high demand. “All free vasectomy and medication abortions are filled for our mobile health clinic in Chicago,” Planned Parenthood Great Rivers wrote on X on Saturday.

How can this not be described as satanic? Children, who God calls a blessing, are being slaughtered and this horrific act is being celebrated.

We shudder when we read just how serious the shedding of innocent blood is in the eyes of God, the only eyes that matter. His response to innocent bloodshed is found many times in Scripture. In one example, Jeremiah 22:3-5, 7, God warned those who shed innocent blood that their houses shall become a desolation and that He will bring destroyers against them.

Numbers 35:33 should make all abortion advocates take serious pause.

“You shall not pollute the land in which you live, for blood pollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except by the blood of the one who shed it.”

There is much more that can be said about this atrocity of innocent bloodshed, but the truth is clear. God hates it. (Proverbs 6:16-19)

In contrast, the God of the Bible tells us in the first chapter of Genesis to “be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.” Jesus’ love for these little ones was very apparent when He said in Matthew 19:14:

“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Let the truth that God is a God of life take root in our hearts. Believe He is willing to forgive all sins if we confess and repent. It’s why Jesus died. He took the punishment for our sin, even the sin of abortion and rebellion against His command to be “fruitful and multiply,” to spare us and make a way for us to avoid the eternal punishment of hell.

Remember how much God loves the sinner. He desires that they would turn to Him, repent, and accept the free gift of eternal life that He offers to us all. In John 3:16-21, we are taught this truth:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

In John 8:31-32, God’s Son, Jesus Christ, tells us if we believe in Him and continue in His Word, we will know the truth, and the truth will make us free. But also understand this sobering truth: Satan is our adversary, seeking to devour, disable, distract, and destroy us. (1 Peter 5:8)

Satan loves death and is working tirelessly to take prisoners for all of eternity. May they come to see their error and turn their hearts to Jesus!
