Does Moms.gov Go Far Enough?

Does Moms.gov Go Far Enough?

This past Mother’s Day, the Trump Administration launched the website, moms.gov– a new initiative designed to support moms in every stage of motherhood.

On the site, the tagline reads,

“Addressing the needs of mothers and fathers who face difficult or unexpected pregnancies and ensuring the wellbeing of mothers and the health of American families.”

This resource allows moms access to pregnancy resource centers, health centers, nutrition care, child Trump accounts, preconception health, breastfeeding support, affordable medical treatments, adoption, and more.

The Hill included this statement from Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.,

“Moms.gov delivers critical tools and support to help parents foster healthy pregnancies, strengthen young families, and create brighter futures for their children…

This is how you Make America Healthy Again.”

An initiative like this is wonderful and we should celebrate it.

However, the Trump Administration needs to go farther in its support of pro-baby, pro-family policies.

IVF and Mifepristone are two examples. In fact, Secretary Kennedy has commented that moms.gov will be promoting IVF specifically as an option for parents.

In February 2025, President Trump signed an executive order to lower the cost of and reduce the barriers to families using IVF fertility treatments.

In October 2025, the White House announced that specific IVF medications would be available at more affordable prices through TrumpRX.

Katy Faust, founder of the child rights advocacy organization, Them Before Us, notes the horrific reality of the IVF industry. In a November 24, 2025, X post, she tweeted:

“The places that have subsidized IVF don’t see an increase in birth rates. It simply means women further postpone childbearing rather than prioritizing it. This is not a solution to the fertility crisis. But it does result in massive loss of human life.”

The truth is that the IVF industry kills more babies every year than the abortion mill giant, Planned Parenthood.

“IVF’s success rate is only 23%. For women over 40, the odds drop to a less than 10% chance of success. However, that only counts the embryos that are implanted. Although the U.S. does not track how many IVF embryos are transferred to the womb and given a chance at life, research from the U.K. found that significantly more embryos were destroyed or left in storage than transferred.

Based on CDC reporting of the number of IVF cycles in the U.S., it is estimated that only 2.3% of IVF embryos result in a live birth…”

As it relates to the abortion drug, Mifepristone, the disappointment on the part of pro-lifers towards the Administration’s soft stance on the dangers of Mifepristone is overwhelming.

In 2023, Biden’s FDA removed the in-person requirement for Mifepristone prescription and dispersion.

The Ethics and Public Policy Center has pointed out the increase in adverse health events after this in-person requirement was removed.

“Data reveals that the rate of serious adverse events following a chemical abortion (mifepristone) was significantly higher after the FDA’s in-person dispensing requirement was removed. That is especially true of the incidence of mifepristone being inappropriately prescribed for women with an ectopic pregnancy, a life-threatening condition that can be diagnosed by a physician only in an in-person visit.”

Not only is Mifepristone dangerous for women, it is almost always deadly for babies.

This drug starves the baby of the necessary and protective hormone, progesterone. When the baby does not receive this hormone from the mom, the baby’s environment is starved of stability– breaking down the uterine lining, detaching the baby, and therefore killing the baby.

In the aftermath of the overturn of Roe v. Wade, abortions have continued to rise largely due to the abortion pill– especially due to the current allowance of the mail-order abortion drug.

True pro-family and pro-baby policies should reject access to Mifepristone and should reject IVF as a viable fertility option for families.

While mom.gov is a step in a good direction and the resources they have available, such as pregnancy resource centers, should be celebrated, we should nevertheless call for further pro-family policies.

Namely, banning access to Mifepristone and discouraging IVF.
