Charlie Kirk, an American conservative activist, media show host, author, and founder of Turning Point USA, recently sat down with Gavin Newsom, the left-wing Democrat Governor of California.

In their conversation, Charlie Kirk pointedly asked Governor Newsom if he would ban biological men from competing in women’s sports.

Newsom’s answer?

“I think it’s an issue of fairness. I completely agree with you on that…

I completely align with you, and we’ve got to own that. It is an issue of fairness and I think Democrats have lost that.”

On the surface, this declaration from a left-wing Governor like Newsom might appear at first to be a win for the conservative movement.

However, Sophia Lorey, the Outreach Director for California Family Council, and Riley Gaines, host of the Gaines for Girls podcast and former NCAA swim athlete, are hesitant to welcome Newsom into the fold. They recently appeared on Fox News Channel with Trace Gallagher to discuss the issue.
