Some of the best parts of being homeschooled are the flexibility of your schedule and the ability to tackle subjects at the pace you need. This not only ensures that you understand what you are learning but gives the opportunity to do things that the stringent schedule of a public school doesn’t allow.
One incredibly inspiring example of this is Dorothy Jean Tillman, who at 17 years of age just earned her doctorate in integrated behavioral health at Arizona State University’s ASU College of Health Solutions.
Because she was homeschooled, Dr. Tillman and her mom were able to go at Dorothy’s pace, allowing her to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees by 15 and then her Ph.D. as a 17-year-old.
Homeschooling creates endless opportunities for students to learn and grow. It’s a creative education system that provides students with the resources and tools they need to thrive, do well in their subjects, and launch their own projects.
Dorothy Jean Tillman is a wonderful example of someone who has been able to take her schooling at her pace and really thrive.
