A controversy has been percolating in the affluent communities served by New Trier High School on Chicago’s North Shore. It’s a controversy that has implications for public schools all over the country—and not just high schools—so I hope taxpayers in other communities pay attention.

Researchers from the University of Sydney and Curtin University in Australia analyzed the findings of 17 previous studies on porn use to determine whether there is an association between “sexual risk behaviors” and pornography consumption.

By now, most of us have out away our Christmas lights and decorations. However, the hope and truth of the Christmas story still remains. Luke 2:7 says “And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” This one verse tells us that Jesus was born in a manger, because there was no room at the local motel.

The Donald Trump presidency is underway. However, for "Progressives," that's just another incentive for them to step up their assault on freedom. But a religious liberty advocate says if Christians pray, maybe the new president will stand for the faithful even when they dare to be a voice in the public square.

The Illinois State Senate Gaming Committee recently heard testimony on SB 7, the massive gambling expansion bill. There were many questions from members of the committee asking sponsor Illinois Sen. Terry Link (D-Gurnee) to make changes to the bill. The Senate moved SB 7 to third reading so it can be called for a vote at anytime now. Illinois Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) filed Senate Amendment 2 to SB 7 to include slot machines at Chicago airports for passengers who at least 21 years of age and members of a private club.
