When a national tragedy occurs, like a school shooting, people are naturally prone to ask why or how it could have happened. It seems so senseless that we want a reason.
Our friend, cartoonist Gary Varvel, had an excellent email last week with his persuasive suggestion that the shooter was demonic in his beliefs and actions. There is a good argument for that concept.
In my Friday video a few days ago, I speculated that perhaps the shooter’s actions were a result of his indoctrination and worldview. Hating Jews, Christians, and Donald Trump almost sounds like a result of watching MSNBC 24/7.
There’s also the predictable call for more gun control, as if a firearm causes people to do evil.
We’ve also heard quite a bit about the shooter’s mother, but where was his father? One news reporter who spoke with family friends said the mother and father divorced over values differences. The father was very supportive of left-wing causes and transitioning the shooter. The mother, who worked at the Catholic school, had traditional values. Family friends said that their divorce deeply impacted the shooter.
The most common reaction was that the shooter is mentally ill. There is obvious truth to this, but if the shooter suffered from mental illness, no one seemed to catch it before the incident. However, we do know that trans confusion involves mental health problems, even though he expressed some mixed regrets for pretending to be female.
There was another mental health contributor that almost no one has mentioned yet. I recently read a news article containing something that jumped out at me. It noted that the shooter had a job where he regularly worked. It was at a marijuana dispensary! In his “manifesto,” the shooter also made an interesting admission. He wrote, “Gender and weed (blanked) up my head! I wish I never tried experimenting with either.”
There is a great deal of scientific evidence from all over the world warning that marijuana use can cause psychotic incidents, schizophrenia, mental health struggles, and hamper healthy brain development, particularly among the young.
One More Question
With the issue of transgenderism in the news again, here is an interesting question:
“If genitalia do not determine one’s gender, why do gender-confused people insist on changing their genitalia?”
