Prisha Mosley, a 25-year-old young woman, is suing a team of doctors and medical professionals for allegedly pushing her into gender transition procedures when she was just a teenager.
The lawsuit claims that these medical professionals convinced Prisha that transitioning would solve her mental health issues.
The defendants had moved to dismiss the case, but the court has determined that there are sufficient allegations to allow the case to move forward.
This unfortunate situation began when Prisha, dealing with depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and an eating disorder, was introduced to the idea of transitioning through social media. She began transitioning at 15, hoping it would help her recover from a sexual assault she endured at 14.
When she reached out to health care providers to seek help, they told her that she was born in the wrong body– the solution to her problems was to go through radical medical experiments.
Fast-forward to today, Prisha has sued multiple doctors and health facilities on seven counts of fraud, facilitating fraud, breach of fiduciary duty rising to the level of constructive fraud, civil conspiracy, medical malpractice, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.
