Polyamory and Open Marriage
By Kenna Rose   |   02.20.24
When a culture increasingly redefines marriage, marriage itself will eventually become meaningless. If marriage can mean anything you want it to, then it actually means nothing. An example of this is a new trend that is emerging in our country: open marriages and polyamory.
Time to File Witness Slips & Make Your Voice Heard
By Kathy Valente   |   02.19.24
Many bills have been filed since the start of this second half of the legislative session. IFI is keeping a close watch on which get assigned to a committee so that you, as an Illinois voter, can make your position known by filing a witness slip.
When ‘He Gets Us’ Presents a Jesus Who is TOO Much Like Us
By Dr. Michael L. Brown   |   02.19.24
I appreciate those who are willing to think outside the box and find unconventional ways to get people interested in hearing about the Savior. And I appreciate Christians who are willing to invest large amounts of money to reach massive secular audiences.
Christians, Stop Living Like You’re Lost Part 2
By Rev. Thorin Anderson   |   02.19.24
In my last article I addressed the reality that many born-again Christians have been thinking and acting too much like the non-Christians around them.  I pointed out particularly the willingness of so many to lie, or misrepresent the facts, when it appeared to benefit them.  Sadly, abandoning truthfulness is not the only similarity between many of God’s people and the world.
Grumpy Old Men
Movie buffs will recognize the title of this article as also being the title of a movie from 1993 starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. The two aging retirees were next-door neighbors. Living in Wabasha, Minnesota, the two feuded constantly. While living alone, they seem to find joy in ice fishing, trading insults, and playing practical jokes on each other.
Edwardsville HS: Installing Multi-gender, Multi-stall Bathroom
By Kathy Athearn   |   02.16.24
This September, Edwardsville H.S. will begin construction on its building to include multi-stall, unisex bathrooms... Doing so will force girls to share bathrooms with boys and vice versa – all in an effort to be more “inclusive” to transgender students. School Board officials decided to move forward with a bathroom remodel after HB 1286 was signed into law by Gov. Pritzker last year.
Abortion Priorities
By David E. Smith   |   02.16.24
Despite having eliminated all legal restrictions on abortion in Illinois, we have good reasons to believe that Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion organizations are planning to pass an abortion amendment to the Illinois Constitution over the next several months in Springfield. If they do, this amendment would then come before Illinois voters for approval on Election Day this November.
The Next Big Climate Scare: Counting Climate Change Deaths
By Steve Goreham, MS/EE, MBA   |   02.15.24
Advocates of measures to control the climate now propose that we begin counting deaths from climate change. They appear to believe that if people see a daily announcement of climate deaths, they will be more inclined to accept climate change policies. But it’s not even clear that the current gentle rise in global temperatures is causing more people to die.
Quack “Academics” Declare War on Racist 3-Year-Olds
By Alex Newman   |   02.15.24
After claiming for years that conservatives were imagining the racial indoctrination of children in government schools, the narrative is shifting. In fact, a group of “academics” and far-left activists released a new guide to teach the Marxism-inspired sociological view known as “Critical Race Theory” to kindergarten children. Even children as young as 3 will be racist without enough “antiracist” propaganda, they suggested.
Illegal Immigrants Overrun ‘Free’ Buildings and Resources Recently Shut Down in Major Cities
By Kathy Athearn   |   02.15.24
Residents in cities across the United States are justifiably upset that their recently closed facilities are now being used by illegal immigrants at no charge to the immigrants. Adding to the frustration, these taxpayer-funded schools, health care clinics, and community recreation centers in low-income neighborhoods have been shut down largely because of city leaders’ fiscal irresponsibility.
