In late June of last year, a cultural battle erupted in the small, northern-Illinois town of Rockton. With police supervising the scene, hundreds of people swarmed to the town's community center where the library board was deliberating inside. Some protesters held signs with slogans such as "Keep Your Hands off Our Children" and sang "God Bless America."

Why would Equality Illinois, a non-profit organization established to promote the civil rights of LGBTQ individuals, be involved in promoting the decriminalization of “sex work”. . . in other words, stop enforcing laws against prostitution? How does this help those who consider themselves LGBTQ?

I remember clearly the highlight Scholastic Book Fairs were during the school year when I was growing up. I personally loved being able to get out of class early to go peruse the books at the fair. I even convinced my mom to buy me a few. Sadly, Scholastic turned down the path of radical ideology a while ago, and these days, they continue pushing anti-family, anti-God messaging.

Prisha Mosley, a 25 year old young woman, is suing a team of doctors and medical professionals for allegedly pushing her into gender transition procedures when she was just a teenager. The lawsuit claims that these medical professionals convinced Prisha that transitioning would solve her mental health issues.

On April 1, 2023 (making many wonder if it was an April Fool’s joke), popular transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney shared a sponsored post in partnership with Bud Light with nods to March Madness and his continuing personal documentary, “365 Days of Girlhood.” In June of 2023, Target released its highly controversial Pride merchandise line, including “tuck-friendly” swimsuits for transgender “women” (biological men).

Most everyone would agree that sexual ethics is an area of confusion in today’s age. Can men become women? Is homosexuality really that bad? Can I change my gender? Does sex mean anything, or is it just a bodily function?

On February 8, 1910, Boy Scouts of America was officially established as an organization designed to challenge boys with age-appropriate programs, to learn valuable skills, and to encourage their sense of adventure. Robert S. S. Baden-Powell was one of the Founders of Boy Scouts of America and his biography gives insight into the creation of this organized group:

In our last piece, we continued our series on the troubling moral consequences of various forms of artificial reproduction technology. From the death of hordes of innocent human embryos to the violation of the sacred marriage commitment, the picture doesn't look pretty when man tries to play God. But we're not done yet. Let's look at a couple more implications of this vicious technological trend.

A recent One America News article reported that a male athlete who goes by Sadie Schreiner “took first place in three women’s events at the Division III Liberty League championship meet.”

Prostitution, sometimes referred to as the world's oldest profession, is s defined as "the act or practice of engaging in sexual activity for money." It has been a prevalent problem in urban areas, at truck stops and now, thanks to smart phones and the Internet, every conceivable dark corner.  Scripture tells us that prostitution is immoral.

Last week the United Methodist Church (UMC) caved to the LGBTQ agenda. For several years, the UMC has pushed back against progressive efforts to embrace same-sex marriage, the ordination of LBGTQ pastors, and the full inclusion of those who identify as LGBTQ into all church ministries and activities.

Frederick Douglass once said, “Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” Reading is vitally important to a child’s imagination and education. The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) notes, "At all three grades, students who more frequently read for fun on their own time had higher average proficiencies."

I trust you’ll recall the source of this verbal gaffe. It came from our esteemed former president, George W. Bush. It was his attempt to define when someone undervalues or underestimates something. It was a malaprop we all understood. 

Last time, we discussed several moral issues that arise when man decides to "play God" in the area of human reproduction. In vitro fertilization always takes innocent life. Embryonic genetic editing tends towards the sad assumption that the mother is the only patient involved, because the embryo is not considered a patient. And efforts to alter a baby's genetics don't have an easy line between "health-related concerns" and flat-out "child enhancement."
