Priorities Amiss

It is hard to believe, but in this General Assembly session, State Senators Linda Holmes (D-Aurora) and Laura Fine (D-Glenview) have introduced legislation to legalize assisted suicide in Illinois (SB 3499). At the same time, their colleague, State Senator Mike Simmons (D-Chicago), has sponsored legislation (SB 3792) to make it illegal for animal shelters to euthanize dogs and cats.

Illinois Democrats’ Plan to Save the State

Illinoisans who are struggling to make ends meet as the Democrat-ruled state teeters on the knife edge of insolvency and whose children are suffering grievously from social isolation and missed milestones that can never be recovered have been waiting for the General Assembly to take action. Illinois families of diverse colors, especially those who lack the financial resources to weather a pandemic, a grossly inept response to a pandemic, government corruption, and decades of egregiously irresponsible economic policies have little choice but to wait for tyrannical, inept, irresponsible and corrupt leaders to help them.

Parental Rights Usurpers in Springfield Aren’t Done with Our Children Yet

Last month, two terrible bills were introduced to amend Illinois’ already offensive comprehensive sex ed law. Then, last week, the so-called "Responsible Education Adolescent and Children's Health" (REACH) Act was introduced. It is heartily endorsed by Planned Parenthood of Illinois and by Illinois' premiere "LBGT" activist organization, Equality Illinois, which should tell you everything you need to know about it.

Illinois House Ratifies the ERA

On Wednesday evening, the Illinois House of Representatives voted 72 to 45 to ratify SJRCA 4, a completely unnecessary proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to eradicate sex as a legitimate characteristic on which to base reasonable distinctions. Illinois House GOP Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) and ten House Republicans voted for the ERA, while five Democrats voted against this resolution.
