Cassidy’s Trans Insanity

On Tuesday, March 11th, State Representative Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) stood on the floor of the Illinois House to denounce Elon Musk for his efforts to cut out waste and fraud, Donald Trump for actions regarding imposing tariffs to level the playing field, and Illinois Republican legislators who had spoken out against transgender girls (boys) in girls’ sports. I’m not sure exactly what those legislators said or why they said it. Cassidy didn’t provide much explanation. It was just a generalized and dramatized denunciation.

She did say 20 “anti-trans” bills had been introduced in Illinois, and she even accused the legislators responsible for introducing the bills for having “a creepy obsession with children’s genitals.” Wow.

I wonder what she thought of the efforts to outlaw female circumcision, that is, female genital mutilation (FGM) in the late 90’s when she was in her mid-20s? Was she opposed to that? Was she indifferent? Based on what she now says about the trans issues—puberty blockers, hormone therapy, surgery—it seems like she might be in favor of repealing that law. After all, she said she opposed becoming involved in “people’s personal lives and decisions.” That is reminiscent of the argument by the Muslim community, who said female circumcision was a personal decision based on their religious beliefs.

The national law which passed in 1996 prohibiting FGM was ruled unconstitutional in 2018 by a federal judge, saying it had to be regulated by the states. Illinois already had a law against FGM, which was adopted in 1998. So it’s still illegal here. The Democrats have a supermajority in Illinois. Does Cassidy now plan to introduce a repeal of that law? It’s currently a Class X felony to perform the procedure and a Class 1 felony to permit it or facilitate female circumcision.

Transgender medical treatment of minors, just the puberty blockers and hormone therapy, sterilizes children. If the chemical treatment continues for long, they are sterile for life. Surgery not only sterilizes them, but it mutilates them more radically than female circumcision. The capability of experiencing an orgasm is gone. There is no possibility of detransitioning and having a normal sex life.

Cassidy also minimized the importance of the trans issue, particularly trans girls in girls’ sports. She said it only applied to three children in Illinois schools. I can’t know for sure if that is wrong. But it does not sound right. What’s more important is that the numbers today mean nothing as the issue is increasing. Within ten years, there was a 4,400% increase in trans identification, according to Abigail Shrier.

Additionally, even three boys in girls’ sports can kill the scholarships for multiple deserving girls, demoralize hundreds of current and aspiring athletes, and physically injure many more.

The problem is not a minor one. If it were, why have these world-class athletes spoken so loudly against it, not just in the U.S., but internationally:

Sharron Davies (Swimming) – Olympic silver medalist for Great Britain

Riley Gaines (Swimming) – Former University of Kentucky swimmer, NCAA All-American, competed against Lia Thomas at 2022 NCAA championship

Nancy Hogshead-Makar (Swimming) – Three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer

Caitlyn Jenner (Track and Field) – Gold medalist in decathlon at 1976 Olympics, set world record, despite being transgender himself has consistently opposed transgender women in women’s sports

Cynthia Millen (Swimming) – Former USA Swimming official who resigned in protest over transgender inclusion policies

Martina Navratilova (Tennis) – 18-time Grand Slam singles champion, has expressed concerns about competitive fairness

Paula Radcliffe (Marathon Running) – Former women’s marathon world record holder

Marshi Smith (Swimming) – Former NCAA champion swimmer

Finally, Cassidy takes the position that there is such a thing as transgender, that someone can be born in the wrong body and that you can change by wearing different clothing, taking chemicals, and having surgery. This is an absurdity. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows it’s not true.

The whole theory of transgenderism was popularized by one man, John Money, whose experiments to prove his hypothesis have been documented to have been fraudulent. The most crucial long-term experiment he conducted on the Reimer twins was an utter and complete disaster and ended with both boys dead, one by suicide and the other by a drug overdose, which was a possible suicide. Money purposefully covered up the failure, instead reporting the experiment’s success and proof of his theories.

Before the failure was exposed, the genie was out of the bottle, and the transgender insanity had metastasized, infecting and distorting the thinking and beliefs of tens of millions of people, Cassidy included.
