A horrifically botched late-term abortion performed by an Illinois abortionist once again highlights the inhumane practice of abortion.

Governor Pritzker has been outspoken in his love for the abortion practice to thrive in the state of Illinois. Illinois State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) noted in his speech on the House floor:

“Under Governor Pritzker’s leadership, Illinois has become the abortion capital of the Midwest. Not only is abortion tax-payer funded, but it is actively promoted by our [Illinois] state government.

Governor Pritzker boasts about it as one of his greatest accomplishments, pouring millions of tax-payer dollars into abortion hotlines, travel expenses, and grants to clinics that operate with virtually no oversight.”

As Representative Halbrook correctly points out, the horrific botched abortion that took place at the Equity Clinic in Champaign, Illinois highlights the devastating effects of these radical abortion policies.

A mother of four from Indianapolis, Indiana traveled to Illinois to receive a late-term abortion at 22 weeks.

Last Friday, a lawsuit was filed where it was disclosed that the mother’s abortion doctor, identified as Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle, left half of the baby inside of her which led to horrible complications.

The abortion clinics advice? Just take ibuprofen.

Representative Halbrook goes on to note,

“Illinois abortion clinics are completely unregulated. There are no inspections, no requirements for doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital in case of an emergency, and since 2019, no mandate for a coroner’s investigation if a woman dies during an abortion.”

This mother experienced first-hand the “care and compassion” that is offered by abortion clinics and their doctors.

Quite the contrary, this case is firsthand evidence to the fact that abortionists do not care about the health and well-being of their patients– not the mother and especially not the preborn baby.

While these circumstances are certainly horrific to experience, I cannot help but think of the Scripture passage, Galatians 6:7-8a:

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption…”

Abortion is the inhumane, wicked practice of intentionally ending a precious baby’s life in the womb.

Those who sow death and destruction reap death and destruction.

As a 30 weeks pregnant mom, my sympathy does not lie with the mother who chose to brutally end the life of her baby.

My sympathy and grief lie with the 22 week old baby who will never breathe fresh air, never take his first steps, never know a mother’s unconditional love, never graduate kindergarten… the list goes on and on.

Abortion is never “safe.” It is wicked, vile, and brutal.

Pastor Calvin Lindstrom of Christian Liberty Academy gravely commented on this horrific case:

“Each and every abortion is a violent action that takes a life. The horror of what abortion is unfortunately is easily covered. It is just a routine procedure conducted in a safe, clean clinic by an experienced doctor. It just takes care of a problem and we all go back to life as normal. This barbaric, disgusting example coming out of Equity Clinic rips of the mask of sanitized abortion. Every abortion is gruesome.

Sometimes we see just how evil it is.”

We must make abortion illegal and unthinkable not ultimately for the sake of mothers receiving “safe” abortion “care,” but for the babies in the womb, whose lives are daily at risk.
