As was mentioned in a previous article, in 2021 perversion activists were successful in pressuring several local governments to either fly the perverted pride flag in June or pressure city councils to pass a Pride Resolution for the month of June. For three years the Arlington Heights city council has passed a resolution declaring June to be Pride Month. These resolutions have been signed by Mayor Tom Hayes who is a member in good standing of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church.

In this second video, Pastor James Pittman of New Hope Community Church and Dr. Lucas O’Neill, pastor of Christian Fellowship Church, discuss why other churches should be aware and interested of what is taking place at The Orchard. Is this the business of other churches?

James and Lucas discuss several key Scripture passages including Rev. 2:23 which is part of the message to the church of Thyatira. This church was told by Jesus, “… And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.” The rebuke brought to Thyatira was not just kept private.

Further, they examine Galatians 2 where Paul emphasized that his ministry was not just a private affair. There is one church of which all true believers are members. Paul was not a lone wolf; we are all one. Further in Galatians 2 we see the rebuke that Paul brought to Peter when he was walking in an inconsistent manner with respect to the gospel.

The matter that greatly concerns us at The Orchard is not just a private matter. It has consequences for churches throughout our area. The key issue then is not is this our business, but what is the biblical response? May the Lord glorify His truth and bring repentance as needed.

Please pray for the leaders of The Orchard and Mayor Hayes, that they would uphold orthodox Biblical teaching about sexuality.

On Friday, June 30, a special panel of pastors will speak to the issue of God’s Law and Gospel and LGBT.
