A horrible tragedy occurred earlier this week, when a young white male walked into Emanuel A.M.E. church in historic Charleston, South Carolina, and killed nine congregation members. Unfortunately, many common responses to the massacre threaten to undermine efforts to seek real, substantive justice.

I am proud of my wife, Paulie. She started young loving Jesus. She gave her heart to Him when she was seven years old. Her mother guided her to the foot of the cross. And there she has remained.
Paulie’s...

Many people have made the comment to me over the last several years that they worry that America is not merely a post-Christian nation but one that seems to be shaking its collective fist at God with our political policies...

It seems that everyone in America today knows that Jesus said, “Judge not, lest you be judged.” But how many people know that Jesus called us to make righteous judgments and that Paul called us to judge fellow believers?

A few weeks ago, I assigned the article “What is Marriage?” to the students in my gender theory class, which I teach at an evangelical university. This article presents an in-depth defense of the conjugal view of marriage, and I included it on the reading list as part of my efforts to expose students to a range of viewpoints—religious and secular, progressive and conservative. Over this past weekend, Christians were shot and killed, beheaded and drowned because they refused to abandon their faith in the face of venom-filled Muslim jihadists.
In one case, twelve Christians were thrown overboard to their deaths in the Mediterranean...

Growing numbers of voices are telling Christians “Keep your views to yourself!” “Stay out of the public square!” Well, what if we did?
Frank Capra’s classic Christmas movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” showed a despairing George Bailey, played by Jimmy...

In 1992, Pat Buchanan put the phrase “culture war” on the map with his speech at the 1992 Republican National Convention. Since that time, there’s been a lot of water under the bridge, but — we should be careful to note — it is all the same river.

Richard Dawkins recently made one of the most ironic statements I’ve heard this week. During an interview for The Irish Times Dawkins, speaking about children, said:
“Children do need to be protected so that they can have a proper education...

Urging Presbyterian Church USA to "repent and be restored to fellowship," the National Black Church Initiative, which represents 34,000 churches from 15 denominations, has declared it has severed ties with PCUSA after it amended its constitution changing their definition of marriage to include same-sex couples.
"NBCI and its membership base are simply standing on the Word of God within the mind of Christ. We urge our brother and sisters of the PCUSA to repent and be restored to fellowship," NBCI President Rev. Anthony Evans said, according to Charisma News.
