Regardless of their claimed party affiliation, average Americans are more unified in their opinions than it might appear. It doesn’t seem that way when we watch the news or read the paper, and sometimes even when we discuss issues one-on-one. An outside observer might even think we are hopelessly divided.

Ever wonder where your tax dollars go? Of course you don’t! Just read a few of the news stories in any given week and you’ll have your answer. 

Man has stewardship over the earth. As we established last time, this is a momentous claim. If you're neglecting a proper degree of dominion over the earth, then you are messing up one of the first commands God ever gave our species.

Several years ago, I made a trip to a popular museum in the Seattle area and toured the various exhibits on display. An exhibit that particularly caught my eye was a kind of vertical conveyor belt on which visitors could post little notes which others could then scroll through and examine. Visitors were instructed to write down their opinion of what the biggest problem in the world was.

We knew the last week of the scheduled session of the Illinois General Assembly would be rough for pro-family conservatives, and we are sorry to report that two terrible bills are now on their way to Governor JB Pritzker's desk, where he is sure to sign them into law.

This is the last week of session. They are scheduled to adjourn on Friday, May 24th. There are two new bills that just came to our attention. Please take the appropriate action.

This week there will be lots of  rigorous floor debating, long speeches, and many specific questions. Please email your elected officials on these bills.

“Plastics, Benjamin.” Most people in the Boomer generation, who are movie goers, could tell you exactly the source of that classic line.

Last year I was at lunch with an evangelist. After the meal, he handed our waitress a Gospel tract. I wanted to reinforce his compassion, so I told the young lady that her relationship with God was the most important thing in the world. She responded, “Yeah, that and global warming!” She proceeded to tell us that she wakes up in fear of what may happen to the earth during her lifetime. I was shocked.

“The green movement calls for a shutdown of coal and gas power plants. At the same time, it demands a switch to electric vehicles, electric home appliances, and green hydrogen produced by power-intensive electrolyzers. This and the AI revolution portend a breakdown of the so-called energy transition.”
