Allie Beth Stuckey: What You Should Know About IVF
“There’s over one million embryos estimated to be frozen in the United States right now, indefinitely potentially. And I think these couples struggle so much with what to do with these embryos,” Dr. Rubal tells Allie Beth Stuckey.

Dr. Lauren Rubal: Ethical Considerations on Fertility
It's not enough to know that we have the scientific ability to do something. We must also think about the moral significance of the thing we choose to do. The artificial reproduction technology known as IVF is no exception. If anything, it is the quintessential example; what may seem to be a miracle of science of infertile couples actually brings with it a host of severe moral complications.

The Secret That The IVF Industry Doesn’t Want You To Know
The in-vitro fertilization industry has a heartwarming story to tell you. They will introduce you to their growing community of loving couples who wish to become parents, and show you pictures of the smiling faces who were born because of IVF practices. But this is only part of the story – a small part. The reason that the IVF industry has attacked the recent Alabama ruling is because they are hiding something, and they are afraid people will learn the rest of the story.

Family Planning Services for the Preteen
A bill currently under consideration in the Illinois General Assembly would allow children 12 and up to apply for Medicaid to pay for “family planning” services. Specifically, HB 5473 states: “Notwithstanding any other provision of this paragraph (2), a minor who is 12 years of age or older may sign and file an application of the minor’s own behalf if such application is for the Article V family planning program enacted by Public Act 102-665 amending Section 5-5 of this Code.”

Embryo Adoption: A Life-Affirming Option
Since the Alabama Supreme Court ruled on February 16 that frozen embryos should be recognized and protected as unborn children, Democrats have wrongfully alleged that Republicans want to “ban” in vitro fertilization (IVF). Even President Biden made this accusation during the State of the Union address last Thursday. However, this is not true. Republicans are not wanting to ban IVF.

Alabama Court Correctly Rules That Frozen Embryos Are Children
Pro-life advocates across the United States should be heartened by the landmark court decision issued on February 16, 2024. In LePage v. IVF Companies Depend on Abortion
The decision striking down Roe v. Wade has led to shrill outcries by providers of in vitro fertilization & surrogacy. Both are lucrative, high-growth commercial industries enjoying increasing demand, thanks in part to rising infertility & late pregnancy among folk in income brackets able to pay for these services. Many of those involved in this industry are alarmed that their “market growth” & profitability are threatened by abortion restrictions & are willing to publicly say so.

Womb for Compromise? (Part 1)
Americans are big on choice. We can choose restaurants, automobiles, our clothing, and even where to live. We can make good choices and bad choices. Our prisons are packed with those who’ve chosen the wrong path. Leaders in government often make us wonder, “What were they thinking?” One of the saddest of choices millions of Americans have made is the decision to terminate a human life through abortion. In bizarre fashion, we even call this a “pro-choice” decision. Frightening.

Better Off Dead
I was born in the 60’s with spina bifida to a 16-year-old unwed mother before it was legal to kill unplanned, unwanted, and/or damaged children. I was all three. But “killed” isn’t a nice word, so, maybe I should modify my terminology like a recent couple who claims to have aborted their 22-week-old daughter with spina bifida, out of a “desire to free [her] from a life of likely suffering.” They claim to have made the decision “entirely for her.”

Frozen Embryos: A Matter of Life or Death
Ever notice how the media has a knack for pulling on our heart-strings in an attempt to divert us from the real facts of the matter? In logic, this fallacy is called, “A red herring.”
A great example of this is the news coverage surrounding an amendment proposed by U.S. Representative Andy Harris (R-MD) regarding the protection of embryonic stem cells. But before we discuss the current legislation, let’s get a running start, and get some background on the issues behind it.
The Christian, pro-life position is that human life begin at conception. A normal human embryo has …
