It comes as no surprise to me that the so-called “progressive” mind embraces the idea of a woman’s choice to end a pregnancy.

Nor does it surprise me that those of the libertarian mindset are willing to jump on the bandwagon for “choice” as well. It’s their “keep government out of our bedroom” mentality.

But some things do surprise me.

One, being the number of Roman Catholic and evangelical men and women who simply fall in line with progressives on this issue.

Another is the absolute refusal of public media to make more of a spectacle out of what really happens in an abortion.

Now, however, something new has taken the cake among my surprises. Almost unbelievably, the current administration has sent the vice president on a pro-abortion tour around the country. Her last stop came a few weeks ago in Minnesota.

Smiling and proud, as if she just received a new puppy, Kamala Harris trotted over to a Planned Parenthood Clinic in the Twin Cities. The location was not given in advance for “security reasons.” You betcha. This continued to feed the preferred lie that pro-lifers are a dangerous group.

Odd since we were not the ones killing babies.

In describing the upcoming visit, the St. Paul Pioneer Press wrote,

“In Minnesota, the vice president planned to visit a health center during operating hours…The center provides a range of services, including abortion, birth control, and preventative wellness care.”

How appropriately deceptive. Planned Parenthood loves it when the description is used, “health center.” Of the so-called health services they provide, one surpasses anything else: abortion.

Do you think they shared with the vice president the gruesome details of how a baby is dismembered in the womb before before being aborted? Or how there is readily available information about the sale of baby body parts from Planned Parenthood? Or of the numerous cases of women being transported to hospitals after botched so-called “safe abortions?”

Don’t kid yourself.

My fear is worse. She wouldn’t care. The president and vice president have vowed to make abortion a leading campaign issue this year. It’s a case of, “Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!”as Naval Officer David Glasgow Farragut famously said.

Who can stand in the way of this aggression? Dr. Adam B. Schaeffer is founder and CSO of Evolving Strategies. He wrote recently in The Federalist about some rather persuasive research his firm conducted in 2022.

Results in seven states revealed that

“Unmarried women are in the market for information, and they respond when they get persuasive messaging—even, perhaps especially, when the topic is abortion. The messages we tested attacked Democrat candidates for their extreme positions on abortion.”

There was actually a noticeable political shift toward conservative candidates by those who viewed these messages. Dr. Schaiffer concluded,

“The fundamental lesson here is that Republicans must go on offense to counter Democrat attacks on Republicans over the question of abortion. And targeting demographics with which Republicans have historically struggled—like unmarried women—shows great potential for winning new votes.”

I’m going to take this one step further. America needs a much louder outcry against baby-killing (call it what it is) from women who are Democrats—married or unmarried! And what better time do this than the summer of 2024. That is when the Democratic National Convention will be held right here in Illinois—in Chicago. The dates are August 19th through August 22nd.

At this website, you can learn how to become a delegate. There are other ways to make your voice heard at the convention as well. Your local political candidates need to hear from you—especially if you explain how your vote is at risk because of this critical issue. Find voices who agree with you and show up at Memorial Day parades! Send a message!

You can easily find Scriptures to back your conviction about God’s view on life. Job 10:11-12 instructs us by saying,

“You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews. You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit.” (ESV)

Job 33:4 states,

“The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” (ESV) In Psalm 119 we read, “Your hands made me and formed me.” (NIV)

Psalm 139 is David’s passionate reminder,

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Vss 13-16 (ESV)

This political year is no time for retreat!

Let’s bring life to the ballot box!
