America is the land of opportunity. In our great nation, you can be too young to smoke, drink, vote, drive a car, or get a tattoo—and yet be old enough to decide you’re the wrong sex and thus chemically wrestle your body into submission.
Many doctors are falling right in line with this twisted line of thought and are promoting “gender affirming care” to make temporary adolescent confusion a permanent part of children’s anatomical future.
But other doctors have had it.
On June 6th, the American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) announced their new Doctors Protecting Children Declaration.
After an extensive summary of the harms of “gender affirming” medicine, the Declaration calls on several notable American medical and pediatric associations to “immediately stop” promoting puberty blockers and transgender therapies.
The Declaration also asserts that American medicine should focus instead on treating the psychological problems that are often a factor in gender confusion.
In a matter of weeks, the Declaration has already been signed by organizations representing over 75,000 physicians and healthcare professionals, as well as gathering many individual signatures from other medical professionals and activists.
Here are some highlights from the Declaration which you probably won’t hear from the mainstream media:
- “Most children and adolescents whose thoughts and feelings do not align with their biological sex will resolve those mental incongruencies after experiencing the normal developmental process of puberty. . . In the ‘largest sample to date of boys clinic-referred for gender dysphoria,’ there was a desistance rate of 87.8%.” (I.e., 88% of boys eventually stopped suffering from dysphoria as they got older.)
- “Responsible informed consent is not possible in light of extremely limited long-term follow-up studies of interventions, and the immature, often impulsive, nature of the adolescent brain. The adolescent brain’s prefrontal cortex is immature and is limited in its ability to strategize, problem solve and make emotionally laden decisions that have life-long consequences.”
- “There are serious long-term risks associated with the use of social transition, puberty blockers, masculinizing or feminizing hormones, and surgeries, not the least of which is potential sterility.”
- “The WPATH Files reveal that the organization [the World Professional Association for Transgender Health] does not meet the standards of evidence-based medicine, and members frequently discuss improvising treatments as they go along.”
“Gender affirming” medicine was always a fraud, but it seems that now it is finally starting to receive massive pushback in the U.S.
When Dr. Jill Simons (Executive Director of ACPeds) was asked at the press conference what prompted this Declaration at this time, she referred to the disturbing information that was recently released in the WPATH files and the Cass report—documents that reveal the true harms of “transgender” medicine.
Another doctor who spoke at the press conference mentioned that England, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden are all now reversing course away from “affirmation” and switching to psychiatric treatment for gender dysphoria.
So, although brave doctors have been sounding the alarm about “gender affirming” medicine for quite some time now, this Declaration is finally presenting one united message: the U.S. must stop this anti-medical lunacy.
