Trump Pushes Major Election Reforms

President Donald J. Trump has recently announced plans to reform the U.S. election system, hoping to eliminate what he calls, “massive voter fraud.” His plan takes direct aim at the loopholes and corruption that have eroded public trust in our elections. Key components of this plan include:

  • Elimination of mail-in voting: Trump is calling for an end to mail-in voting, arguing that it is a “scam” that leads to fraud. He intends to sign an executive order to begin this process. Several nations have wisely restricted or banned mail-in voting to prevent fraud, including Mexico, France, Belgium, Sweden, Italy and Japan.
  • Eliminate the endless count: Ballots must be cast and received by Election Day. No more midnight “vote dumps.” No more shifting tallies that erode public trust. Scripture teaches us that, “a false balance is an abomination to the Lord” (Proverbs 11:1). Honest elections require clear rules—and this is one of them.
  • Return to paper ballots: As a replacement for both mail-in ballots and voting machines, he proposes a return to traditional paper ballots with watermarks. This method is more secure, faster, and less expensive.

This is in addition to President Trump’s March 25th Executive Order 14248 titled, “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections,” which would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship before registering to vote in federal elections. Acceptable documents include a birth certificate or U.S. passport, while student IDs and employee badges are explicitly rejected.

Trump’s order hits states fiscally. Those that refuse to clean up their election systems risk losing millions in federal grants. For decades, Washington has enticed states into adopting liberal social policies—but now President Trump is flipping the script. It is both fitting and encouraging to know that our federal tax dollars will now be leveraged to drive real election reform—even in deep-blue states like Illinois.

While left-of-center politicians and the legacy media want the public to believe that voting “irregularities” are rare, they not only understate the problem, but fail to understand that the election process should be transparent and above reproach.

Not a shred of corruption in our elections can be tolerated.

Zero.

For grassroot conservatives, this is welcome news. Illinois Conservative Union’s Carol Davis lauds the announcement saying,

President Trump once again cuts through all the rhetoric and stands firmly for truth and common sense. Every rational person knows that mass mail-in ballots are a superhighway to election fraud and that voting machines can be hacked. Anyone who declares this is not true deserves to be marginalized and disregarded.

Make common sense great again: paper ballots, no machines, voter ID, Election Day (not Election “Season”!), results determined at the close of Election Day – our great nation can make this the standard practice for our elections once again.

Unsurprisingly, these election reforms are already under attack. Illinois and 18 other Democratic attorneys general rushed to court, insisting Trump’s order is unconstitutional and intrudes on their turf. Their argument leans on the left-wing narrative that voter fraud is a ‘myth’—a claim contradicted by mounting evidence.

At the same time, left-wing groups are crying ‘voter suppression’ over the reasonable proof-of-citizenship requirement. Regrettably, a federal court has already stepped in to temporarily block that requirement for the national voter registration form while the case moves forward.

Leading conservative lawmakers think election reform is absolutely necessary. State Senator Neil Anderson (R-Aledo) points out:

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy, yet year after year, Americans have watched their trust in the system erode. Too many doubts have been raised, too many questions left unanswered, and that is unacceptable.

That’s why I filed a bill in Illinois to eliminate electronic voting machines once and for all. These machines are vulnerable, unaccountable, and have no place in a system that demands transparency and accuracy. People deserve to know that every vote is counted honestly, without doubt, without manipulation, and without compromise.

I commend President Trump for taking the appropriate steps to secure our elections. The integrity of our democracy is not negotiable, and I will fight tirelessly to restore the confidence of the people in the most sacred act of citizenship – their vote.

State Senator Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport) also expressed his strong support, saying:

In Illinois, Democrats have made it easy to vote – even for those who are ineligible – while making it nearly impossible to investigate and prove fraud.

Returning to same-day voting is critical to restoring transparency, ensuring every legitimate vote counts and removing the cloud of doubt that hangs over every election.

President Trump‘s comprehensive plan to eliminate mail in ballots and electronic voting machines is a vital step toward preserving election integrity, and I fully support it.

God’s Gift of Self-Government

Make no mistake—this is more than politics. This is about truth, justice, and the American way of life. It is about preserving the blessings of liberty for our children and grandchildren. God has entrusted us with the stewardship of self-government, and honest elections are central to that trust.

We cannot sit idly by while the godless Left employs an ‘any means necessary’ strategy to achieve their big-government goals. We must demand that our leaders protect the integrity of the ballot box.

It’s time for Christians to be just as bold. Pray, speak, act—and then pray some more. The integrity of American elections, and the very future of our republic, hang in the balance.

Take ACTION: Click HERE to send a message to President Trump and to your federal lawmakers expressing your strong support for election reform. Tell them that millions of Americans care deeply about protecting truth, justice, and our God-given freedoms. Urge them to stand firmly behind policies that safeguard honesty and accountability in our elections.
