“In general, Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show had the kind of wholesome, traditional family values that would have fit right in with some of the more sentimental commercials that appeared during the game.” – The Washington Post
If you have seen highlights or watched the recent Super Bowl halftime show, I hope you can see through the blatant lie of this analysis.
CNN had the gall to make this headline: “Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance redefined what it means to be an America patriot.”
I’m not sure John Adams, John Hancock, or George Washington would agree with CNN’s definition of “American patriotism.”
The NFL Super Bowl halftime show featuring Puerto Rican rapper, Bad Bunny, was anything but wholesome and in no way communicated anything close to “traditional family values.”
In fact, Bad Bunny’s performance promoted the exact opposite.
The analysis from The Washington Post most likely has many people fooled (including some Christians) because the entire show was in Spanish. Most of the NFL halftime show audience had no clue the lyrics they were (trying) to sing along to.
My conscience forbids me from actually typing the words to these lyrics, but giving you a fill-in-the-blank version should get my point across pretty clearly.
“___ with __, __ with __ (__ _ _)
__ with __, __ with __, yes (__ _ _)
___ with __, __ with __ (__ _ _)
Your __ ______ my ____ (__ _ _)
This year I don’t want ___ (__ _ _)”
Like I said, I think you get the idea.
Nothing about this show was wholesome. Don’t allow the media to fool you.
On the other hand, Turning Point USA’s alternative halftime show featuring Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett was actually the epitome of what it means to be an American.
Kid Rock sang about cherishing loved ones in the song, “‘Til You Can’t.”
Lee Brice featured music that praised conservative, Christian beliefs in his song, “Country Nowadays.”
Brantley Gilbert’s song, “Real American” was a truly patriotic anthem praising American pride, freedom, and values.
Gabby Barrett, a Christian country artist, sang about the beauty of marriage in her song, “The Good Ones.”
In contrast to Bad Bunny’s show, Turning Point’s show truly showcased what is means to be an American– promoting biblical beliefs, family, and marriage.
