Despite the Left’s relentless attacks on the natural family, the sanctity of life, and religious liberty, the Illinois Family Institute refuses to back down. There is too much at stake. We want our children and grandchildren to enjoy the God-given freedoms most of us enjoyed as we grew up. We want our children and grandchildren to have the freedom to live their lives each day in accordance with the convictions that guide their thoughts and conduct.
There are some prominent conservatives — political advisors/operatives, talk radio personalities, activists for other causes — who have long claimed that what matters most are fiscal issues. IFI is the only voice telling the truth: what matters most are faith and family if we hope to secure liberty for our children and grandchildren!
For thirty-two years now, IFI has worked to counter the Left’s aggressive efforts to advance oppressive and pernicious legislation in the General Assembly and to expose public schools for their role in transforming the hearts and minds of other people’s children. The fact that we are always vastly out-spent and out-manned doesn’t dissuade us from fighting for what is true and good. We are accustomed to battling against great odds and have been able to stop or forestall many of their plans.
Will you join the cultural battle in the public square by supporting the one organization in Illinois that is willing to expose the deception of the Left and offer a Christian lens through which to view, understand, and respond to the culture?
While it may appear that good work bears little fruit in Illinois, appearances can be deceiving.
What cannot be measured is where Illinois would be without resistance.
What would Illinois look like without the Illinois Family Institute pushing back hard against the ideology and efforts of Leftists?
What would the state look like if IFI were not here to alert, equip, and encourage Illinoisans?
According to a Gallup poll released in June, only 51 percent of Americans believe “changing one’s gender” is immoral — while 44% say it is morally acceptable, which is generally in line with readings in 2021 and 2023.
At the same time, a June 2023 poll from left-leaning Public Religion Research Institute reports that 92 percent of U.S. white evangelicals believe there are only two genders, “up from 86% in 2021.” This same survey shows that “66% of Hispanic Catholics believe there are only two genders — up from 48% in 2021.”
We can be encouraged that this survey reports that “65% of Americans overall, up from 59% two years ago, say there are only two genders.” The trend is hopeful, but yet, far too many people are buying lies. As you can see, we still have much work to do!
The radial Left is dedicated to diligently and intentionally making Apostles of Wokeism. But we are called to make Disciples of Jesus Christ.
The overt brainwashing in our schools and libraries has permeated our society through Critical Race Theory, comprehensive sex-education, the transgender agenda, climate change, The 1619 Project and other hate-America history lessons, pro-socialism, and pro-Sharia courses, Common Core, etc.
Our children continue to be indoctrinated with godless ideology while at the same time fail basic proficiency levels in core subjects.
The challenges we face are daunting, but we can take comfort in the fact that it’s not the first such challenge our great nation has had to overcome. We the people, have been down this road before. We have fought and defeated tyrants before. And with the help of Almighty God, we can do it again.
The current predicament is actually a phenomenal opportunity to shine the light of Jesus and spread the salt of Truth – capital “T.” Wokesters are overreaching. They have gone too far. They’ve lost their collective minds. And thankfully, it is finally becoming apparent to some of our friends and neighbors.
IFI exists to help Christians fulfill their call to be salt and light in the culture. We strive to equip, encourage, and activate Christians to take a stand for biblical truth. If more Christians would speak up in the public square, we could create ripple effects throughout the culture.
Our problem isn’t political in nature, it is spiritual. We’ve drifted away from God and His standards and are now reaping the consequences. The first chapter of Romans calls our cultural condition futile, vile, and debased.
Therefore, we must understand that the best course of action is to focus on advancing a biblical worldview one person at a time, one family at a time, and one church at a time.
We must work to correct our thinking and align it to the Word of God. It is vital that we intentionally pursue worldview training for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren. This is especially true when it comes to the sanctity of human life.

Every year we face an onslaught of lies and deception from the godless Left: relentless attempts to advance and fund the so-called “right” to destroy unborn lives; to erode conscience rights and religious liberty; to enlist government schools in the effort to normalize the “trans” ideology and homosexuality; to expand marijuana use and increase gambling locations; and to eliminate all public recognition of sex differences–including drafting our daughters into military service and sexually integrating all sex-specific private spaces and activities.
The efforts in 2025 will be just as important. The Left doesn’t give up on their godless worldview or walk away from the battle. They are already planning how to “Trump-proof” Illinois, circumventing the will of the voters. They are forming coalitions and devising strategies to grow Big Government at the expense of our families and our God-given liberties.
If we can learn anything from the Left, it’s to be tenacious, persevering, fearless, and bold.
