Death Pills are Coming to Illinois Colleges – Tell Pritzker to Stop Them

Illinois is gearing up to require public colleges to provide abortion pills on campus. This legislation, HB 3709, passed both houses of the legislature by May 31st and was sent to Governor JB Pritzker on June 24th.

Abortion pills can be obtained anywhere in the country, even where abortion is supposed to be illegal. As such, they are everywhere—in 2023, they comprised 63% of our nation’s abortions, killing over 642,000 babies. But that’s not all—Illinois is now getting ready to mandate that they be provided in the Illinois public higher education system.

It’s easy to talk about the abortion pill as an abstract concept or an invisible reality. After all, pills are small, quiet, and quickly disappear out of sight. But what does the abortion pill actually do? Planned Parenthood may say it “stops the pregnancy from growing” and “empties your uterus,” but it’s a far more ghastly picture than that. (Note: the following does not constitute medical advice or replace the individualized counsel of a doctor.)

The “abortion pill” consists of two different sets of medications. The woman takes the first pill, mifepristone, which blocks the action of the hormone progesterone. Progesterone is needed to supply oxygen and nutrients to the baby, so when progesterone is blocked, the baby slowly dies of starvation and asphyxiation. (Note that there is a reversal that can save the baby’s life at this point: abortionpillreversal.com).

Later, the woman takes a second pill, misoprostol, which initiates severe cramping, contractions, and often heavy bleeding to expel the baby from his mother’s womb. Bleeding lasts more than 30 days for 1 in 12 women, and 1 in 100 women require hospitalization. So on the street, we could describe it this way: the pill kills the baby and then forces his or her mom to give birth to his or her dead body.

See this video for more information on the abortion pill, explained by abortionist-turned-pro-lifer Dr. Anthony Levatino. And see here for very graphic photos of what babies look like after being aborted with the pill. No one should allow themselves to vote on any law regarding abortion pills without first seeing these photos.

But Illinois’ lawmakers just passed this bill to mandate that public colleges provide these starvation-asphyxiation pills on campus. The bill says that if a public college has student health services, it must provide students with access to a healthcare professional who can prescribe abortion pills. And if the college’s student health services has a pharmacy, then the school must provide abortion pills at a physical location on campus.

HB 3709 was sent to the governor at the end of June, and the Illinois Constitution gives the governor 60 days to sign it. So, Illinois residents, contact Governor Pritzker NOW. Your public institutions are about to be used to distribute death pills.

Take ACTION: Click HERE to send a message to Governor Pritzker to ask him to veto this dangerous and deadly abortion pill legislation.

Implore the governor not to enact this atrocity that will force colleges to be complicit in the starvation and asphyxiation of little baby boys and girls on campus. Proud alumni, implore him not to make your school—whether it be the University of Illinois, Illinois State University, Southern Illinois University, or many others—all a part of Illinois’ Auschwitz.
