In its recent March 2026 Newsletter, the AMA (American Medical Association) affirmed its support of “gender affirming care” for minors.

The organization’s membership stated,

“AMA policy on gender-affirming care is unchanged…

Our recent response to questions about ASPS’s position statement was intended to preserve — not diminish — access to gender-affirming care, and to clarify and reinforce what our policy has long reflected and standards of care. The AMA supports gender-affirming care as medically necessary per our policy.”

This newsletter is on the heels of the recent February decision of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) to encourage its members to exercise extreme caution in procedures involving gender-confused minors.

If you recall, the ASPS’s decision to halt “gender-affirming care” is due to the first successful lawsuit on the part of Isabella Varian against the ASPS’s Dr. Simon Chin for his part in Isabella Varian’s irreversible “care.”

One would think that other medical associations would see the ASPS’s lawsuit experience as the necessary warning to stop their roles in “gender-affirming care” for minors. This “gender-affirming care” involves hormone therapy and the irreversible removal and mutilation of healthy body parts.

Isabella’s successful day in court firmly establishes that other medical associations which are propagating and profiting from the mutilation of children’s bodies are no longer untouchable.

Denying biology and common sense, the AMA doubled down on its insistence that “gender-affirming care” is “evidence-based treatment.”

“The AMA supports evidence-based treatment, including gender affirming care. Currently, the evidence for gender-affirming surgical intervention in minors is insufficient for us to make a definitive statement. In the absence of clear evidence, surgical interventions in minors should be generally deferred to adulthood. Treatment decisions should be made between the physician, patient and family based on the best medical evidence and clinical judgment.”

Despite including both evidence-based treatment AND “gender affirming care” in the same sentence, there is no “evidence-based treatment” that supports the mutilation of healthy body parts in children.

In fact, the overwhelming evidence reveals the exact opposite.

Those who undergo “gender-affirming care” as minors have a higher likelihood of regret, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, suicidal attempts, reproductive health issues, and much more.

In September of 2023, The Washington Stand reported,

“New research from the United Kingdom is showing that over a third of children placed on puberty blockers and hormone drugs suffered severe mental health deterioration afterwards.”

A landmark Dutch study found that the vast majority of adolescents outgrow their gender confusion.

By ages 24-26:

The majority, or 78%, said they had no gender non-contentedness; 19% had decreasing gender non-contentedness over the course of the study, and just 2% had increasing gender non-contentedness.

Despite what the AMA would have you believe, “gender-affirming care” for minors is cruel, abusive, and corrosive to their mental health and physical well-being.

We, as Christians and a society as a whole, must continue to reject the fake “science” which medical organizations like the AMA put out.

The well-being and future of children is at stake.
