Last month, Planned Parenthood released its annual report for 2022-2023, showing the pro-abortion group received close to $700 million in taxpayer funding.

In this report, which the Planned Parenthood leadership has called their “love note to the doctors, nurses, clinicians, educators, and staff who spend their days fulfilling the promise to care,” they detail their activities and accomplishments for the year, which has nothing to do with care, but rather the destruction of human life. At the same time, though, the organization’s funding from taxpayer dollars surged by nearly $40 million.

Make no mistake about it, abortion is the primary focus of Planned Parenthood business.

Over the past few years, in anticipation of Roe v. Wade being overturned, abortion cheerleaders in Illinois repealed every law that regulated “reproductive health” services. They’ve also been busy expanding the number of abortuaries to 18 in Illinois.

It is sad to read their report for the 2022-2023 fiscal year in which Planned Parenthood admits to committing 392,715 abortions. That is an increase of 18,560 from the previous year.

Sex-Ed Indoctrination

Another distressing number included in this report is that Planned Parenthood reached 1.2 million people through its indoctrination efforts in which they lie to children, training them to “experiment” with risky sexual activities, thereby insuring future clients. They claim that their videos received 3 million views. Some examples of the things it is “educating” people on include:

• Why virginity is a made-up concept to shame people, especially women
• How to know your gender and sexual orientation
• How getting an abortion allegedly made one girl “stronger”

Transgender Confusion Therapy

It may surprise you to learn that Planned Parenthood is also working hard to disable pregnancy and further the lie that a woman can become a man, and vice versa, by performing “gender-affirming” therapy. In their report we learn that they admit to performing 177,237 of these “services,” including:

• Estrogen and anti-androgen hormone therapy
• Testosterone hormone therapy
• Puberty blockers
• Surgery referrals
• Transition support (social, legal)

According to The American College of Pediatricians, all of these have long-term or permanent health complications.

Taxpayer Funded

Planned Parenthood received $699.3 million in taxpayer funding during the 2022-2023 fiscal year, up nearly $40 million from the previous year. This accounts for 34% of its revenue.

Our nation is already struggling financially with the effects of inflation, with one study finding that families are spending $709 more per month to buy the same goods and services than they were in 2021. In 2023, homelessness increased by 12.1% from 2022.

Nationally, we have over $34 trillion in debt. Yet, despite this financial strain, almost $700 million went to fund Planned Parenthood and its heinous agenda. This is especially disturbing given that a poll found that 60% of Americans oppose forcing taxpayers to fund abortion in the United States.

In addition, many nations around the world, including the U.S., have seen birth rates drop below the 2.1 replacement rate. Experts and political observers are sounding the alarm as the CDC released the following statistics a couple of weeks ago warning that our national birth rate dropped to 1.6:

The general fertility rate in the United States decreased by 3% from 2022, reaching a historic low. This marks the second consecutive year of decline, following a brief 1% increase from 2020 to 2021. From 2014 to 2020, the rate consistently decreased by 2% annually.

In the light of this trend, why are taxpayers funding the destruction of precious human lives?

The very first command given to mankind can be found in Genesis 1:28a

God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth…

This command is repeated nine times in the book of Genesis, and we are not even close to filling the earth yet. Satan is working overtime to destroy/disable every image of God he can, born and unborn. Yet we are told to stand firm and oppose him. In Ephesians 6:12 we are told that our struggle is “not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Therefore, we must pray for God’s help against our enemies and put our faith into action by doing His perfect will.

Please Pray

–Pray that your family members, neighbors, and your elected officials would understand that each and every human being is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and value. As Genesis 1:26-27 tell us:

God created mankind in His image;
in the image of God He created them;
male and female He created them.

–Pray that pastors and church leaders would regularly and publicly uphold the sanctity of human life. The Church has, in general, failed to teach our duty to care for each and every individual – born and unborn. Proverbs 24:11 instructs us:

Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.

–Throughout the Old and New Testaments, children are described as a blessing from the Lord. Pray that pastors and church leaders would regularly and publicly teach these things to a people who simply do not know:

Then the Lord, your God, will generously increase your undertakings, the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your soil; for the Lord, your God, will again take delight in your prosperity, just as He took delight in your ancestors’. (Deuteronomy 30:9)

Certainly sons are a gift from the Lord,
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the sons born in one’s youth. (Psalm 127:3-4)

–Pray for a greater understanding that God cares about those who cannot defend themselves, and as His ambassadors, we should as well:

Why do the wicked renounce God?
He has said in his heart,
“You will not require an account.”
But You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief,
To repay it by Your hand.
The helpless commits himself to You;
You are the helper of the fatherless. (Psalm 10:13-14)

Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will prepare their heart;
You will cause Your ear to hear,
To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed,
That the man of the earth may oppress no more. (Psalm 10:17-18)

Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die. (Proverbs 31:8)

Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven
their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.  (Matthew 18:10)

–Pray for the pregnancy resource centers in Illinois, and those diligently reaching out to vulnerable mothers who feel as if abortion is their only option.

–Pray for a change of heart for those who are working in abortion facilities. Pray that God would get a hold of their heart, that they would realize what they are doing to innocent babies and that many employees and volunteers would walk away, never to return.

–Please continue to pray for our local, state and national officials as they consider new policies and laws that will affect our families and freedoms. Join us as we pray for God’s guidance and wisdom in the halls of our legislatures.

–Pray for the ultimate demise of the bills IFI is opposing in Springfield.

–Please also ask that God would put into place legislators who value the sanctity of life and will work to pass laws that help protect the life of the unborn.

–Pray for boldness in our pulpits and for strong, unwavering church leadership and a willingness to engage the culture.

–Pray that the Holy Spirit would remind parents/grandparents to fearlessly proclaim the Word of God regarding sin and God’s love. Pray for the training of our children and wisdom on how to instill a biblical worldview in today’s crazy culture.

–Pray for the health, safety and well-being of the IFI staff and for ample provisions to do this work; pray that the Lord would be pleased to amplify the work He is doing through us.
