Join us in Downers Grove on March 7, 2026, for the IFI Worldview Conference featuring Dr. George Barna, one of the most trusted researchers on faith and culture in America. With over 40 years of data—and 30 years tracking worldview trends—Dr. Barna will expose what most churches are missing about the current state of the American church.
This year’s conference will also feature Dr. Mark Zumhagen, who will confront the need for an honest assessment of our spiritual worldview, and Pastor Ceasar LeFlore, who will issue a clear call to rebuild what has been compromised, on Christ alone, the unshakable Rock. Both speakers are IFI Board Members and are deeply committed to restoring biblical clarity within Christian families.
Facts:
- Only about 40% of U.S. adults say they believe the God of the Bible exists and actively influences human lives.
- Even fewer — only 16% of all American adults — say that God is the most important element in their life.
- Less than one-third (31%) believe God is involved in every moment of life, and just 9% claim a consistent, interactive relationship with Him.
- Even among self-identified Christians, there’s widespread confusion about essential beliefs — for example, concerning sin, salvation, and God’s nature.
Dr. Barna’s research once again confirms a sobering reality: calling oneself a Christian does not guarantee biblical thinking or living. Large numbers of Americans identify as Christian yet reject central biblical truths, instead embracing cultural definitions of sin, morality, and authority.
What we are witnessing is not merely a decline in church attendance, but a wholesale redefinition of belief. As biblical truth erodes, it reshapes everything—from entertainment and education to public policy and the laws that govern us. This anti-biblical worldview is no longer confined to the culture; it is seeping into the church and shaping our families at an accelerating pace.
Only a remnant now holds a consistent biblical worldview. Syncretism and confusion have become the norm, even among churchgoers. Like the exiles in Babylon, believers today must learn how to live faithfully in a culture increasingly hostile to God’s truth.
If we fail to teach our children and grandchildren the Bible and how to apply it to the issues of the day, the culture will gladly do it for us. We must be rooted in God’s Word and equipped to address the challenges confronting our families and neighbors with clarity and conviction. This year’s IFI Worldview Conference is a critical opportunity to begin—or reinforce—that foundation.
What is a “worldview”?
Summit Ministries defines worldview as “a pattern of ideas, beliefs, convictions, and habits that help us make sense of God, the world, and our relationship to God and the world.” Ligonier Ministries says:
A person’s worldview represents his most fundamental beliefs and assumptions about the universe he inhabits. It reflects how he would answer all the “big questions” of human existence: fundamental questions about who and what we are, where we came from, why we’re here, where (if anywhere) we’re headed, the meaning and purpose of life, the nature of the afterlife, and what counts as a good life here and now.
Everyone has a worldview, and, sadly, even many Christians have a flawed worldview that falls short of God’s perfect standard. It is tragic to see how the incoherent ideology of humanism has captured the hearts and minds of many Americans and is destroying lives and families. Far too many Christians are ill-informed or misinformed on the issues of the day and, consequently, are buying the destructive lies sold by the culture.
We must work to correct our thinking and align it with the Word of God. It is vital that we intentionally pursue worldview training for ourselves, for our children, and for our grandchildren.
Please join us to become better informed about the pernicious cultural trends we are facing and how we are called to respond.
