Conservative, Christian culture often talks about the beauty of motherhood and why it should be pursued.
Unfortunately, the lies and deceit of feminism have largely affected young women. As a result, more and more young women are pursuing careers over having a family and are pushing off having children later and later in life.
According to the New York Times, women who have a college degree, on average, have children later in life — around 30 or 31 being the age when they have their first child. While it is right and good that conservatives and Christians call women to the high calling of marriage and family, what about men?
Brad Wilcox, sociologist and expert in family and fatherhood studies, recently highlighted the unique fulfillment that comes from being a father. Dr. Stephen Cranney of the Institute for Family Studies found that fatherhood is directly linked to a man understanding his purpose in life.
- 59% of men without kids say that they understand their purpose in life.
- 72% of men with one child understands his purpose.
- 79% with two children.
- 83% with three+ children.
In other words, the more children you have, the more purposeful and fulfilling your life is. The testimonies of many men corroborates this truth.
“Being a father has been the most rewarding and important job of my life. It changes your perspective on everything.” – George W. Bush
“The rewards of fatherhood are not measured in money or status, but in the character of the children you raise and the love that fills your home.” – Ben Carson
“Fatherhood is the great adventure of a man’s life. It calls forth his highest virtues —courage, sacrifice, and provider — and rewards him with a fulfillment that no career can ever duplicate.” – Dennis Prager
“A man’s primary legacy is not his wealth or his worldly achievements, but the strength and love he invests in his family. Raising children to be good citizens is the most fulfilling work a man can do.” – Thomas Sowell
“Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.” – C. S. Lewis
“Becoming a father has radicalized me in the best way possible… it’s made me understand that what I’m fighting for is beyond even yourself, which is so important. It’s a source of immense joy and meaning and beauty, and it’s also a source of motivation and purpose. I encourage more young people to get married and have kids—you’ll be happier because of it.” – Charlie Kirk
Young men, fatherhood is worth pursuing. Don’t allow the culture to convince you otherwise.
