The MYA Network, a network of pro-abortion clinicians and activists, posted a series of photos of what they claimed a 1st trimester pregnancy looks like.
The Guardian, a left-of-center British newspaper, happily featured their deceptive findings.
According to the MYA Network, this photo is a series of developmental progressions from 5 weeks pregnant to 9 weeks pregnant. How they get away with this is truly a mystery. Aren’t they familiar with ultrasounds?
For anyone who has been pregnant or knows even just a little bit of the science of human development, you know this is a blatant lie.
A lie that is intentional for the purpose of convincing women that their 1st trimester abortions are no big deal. After all, there’s no baby, no heartbeat, and nothing formed. It’s just a globular mass of barely connected tissue.
In order to combat dangerous lies, truth is needed.
As an ultrasound reveals, this is what an actual 7-week pregnancy looks like. A developing baby is visible—complete with tiny, emerging limb buds and blood actively pumping through her newly formed vascular system.
What’s also developing at 7 weeks are baby’s eyes, spinal cord, all internal organs, arm and leg joints and her amazing brain. At 7 weeks, her brain is developing into 5 main lobes and cranial nerves are appearing. She’s fearfully and wonderfully made!
She even has her own unique DNA, distinct from her mother’s—and half the time, the baby is a different sex from the mother.
Furthermore, early cardiac activity is present. In human development, early tissue begins rhythmic contractions around 4 to 6 weeks.
If you have ever been pregnant, this is why your doctor or midwife usually wants to wait until the 7th or 8th week mark to book your first ultrasound because your first appointment has two goals in mind:
- Confirm the pregnancy.
- Establish a due date.
The process of confirming the pregnancy entails an ultrasound which confirms a baby within the uterus and confirms an active, healthy heartbeat. From there, the size of the baby helps to determine your due date.
This idea that there is no baby and no heartbeat present at 7 or 8 weeks gestation is completely false, and any mother can easily disprove this by looking at her own first ultrasound photos.
Propaganda like this is meant to lie to and mislead women into thinking their early abortions are no big deal.
But they are.
Every abortion, whether it’s in the first trimester or beyond, intentionally takes the life of a real baby – a human being made in the image of God.
Rescue those who are being taken away to death;
