Speak Out Against Yet Another Abortion Expansion in Illinois

Speak Out Against Yet Another Abortion Expansion in Illinois

Just when it seems Governor Pritzker and Congressional Democrats couldn’t possibly expand abortion any further in the Land of Lincoln, they find another way.

Early last month, Senator Mary Edly-Allen (D-Grayslake) introduced SB 4011, which requires the Illinois Department of Public Health to establish the “Abortion Access Fund Grant Program.”

This legislation seeks to:

“fund abortion services for which the use of federal funds is prohibited for patients who are uninsured or underinsured with respect to those services.”

Take ACTION: Please click HERE to send a message to your state senator to ask him/her to vote against this legislation to force taxpayers to fund even more abortions through the proposed “Abortion Access Fund.” This is a direct assault on the sanctity of life—and your conscience. Your voice matters. Lawmakers pay attention when thousands of citizens speak up.

Background

With each pro-abortion legislative move, Democrats are looking to close any and all “gaps” in abortion access left by the overturn of Roe, though it’s hard to believe they have left any stone unturned at this point. It’s abundantly clear that they are obsessed with making abortion the preferred option for women who experience even a tinge of doubt about a pregnancy, most recently expanding funding to ensure even women from out of state can access life-ending procedures in Illinois.

With young families leaving the state in droves in search of more freedom and better opportunities, state leaders seem intent on creating a demographic crisis in the not-so-distant future. Not only are their policies driving people away, but they’re doing everything they can to reduce the state’s birth rate.

Oh, and they’re doing all of this with your tax dollars.

The Margaret Thatcher quote about socialists running out of other people’s money would be funny if it weren’t true. In light of an increasingly bloated state budget and yearly tax increases that can’t even cover it, SB4011 represents just one more agenda item where Illinois taxpayers’ dollars have no business going, but go they will.

Since it’s futile to expect not to be overtaxed, the least that pro-life Illinoisans should be able to ask is for their tax dollars not to be used to end life, but rather to support mothers who find themselves facing unplanned pregnancies.

Women without abortion coverage don’t need the state to step in. They need to know there is another option. Can you imagine what would happen if pregnancy resource centers had even half of the resources of Planned Parenthood, let alone the freedom to operate without government interference and threats of censorship?

SB 4011 is scheduled for a hearing on March 25th

Share this information with friends and family, and please take the time to make your voice heard. Most of all, pray! Pray that the Spirit of God would move among Illinois legislators, that this bill and others like it would fail, and that abortion-minded women would find themselves surrounded by loving, Christian men and women who will not only speak truth but also walk alongside them in their time of need.

Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work? – Prov. 24:11–12
