Rolling Back the Gender Insanity

Rolling Back the Gender Insanity

One factor in the Republican victory on November 5th was the transgender issue. Promoting transgender ideology was a high priority of the Biden Administration. Among the first executive orders issued by President Biden on January 25, 2021, was to allow transgenders to serve in the military.

A month and a half later, President Biden appointed Rachel Levine as Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services. Levine, a man who claims he is a woman, is the first transgender ever appointed to a position that required Senate confirmation.

Levine is a radical promoter of the trans ideology, who, for years before his appointment, had insisted that “gender-affirming care” is the universally accepted standard of care. It is not. “Gender-affirming care” is highly controversial and lacks any consensus whatsoever.

One reason there is a controversy is that research that shows “gender-affirming care” is not helpful has been suppressed. An example of such suppression recently came to light when it was disclosed that Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy has been withholding publication of her study on the effects of puberty blockers on transgender children. Olson-Kennedy’s study, known as the Trans Youth Care (TYC) study, was funded by a $9.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The U.S. House Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services is looking into the researchers’ failure to report their findings. The position of NIH is that it is up to the researchers whether to publish their findings. (Which is a ridiculous position when our tax dollars are being used. We paid to find out the results.)

The Chairwoman of the Subcommittee, Lisa McClain, said,

“the refusal to publish taxpayer-funded research because they contradict her pre-existing biases and could be cited by critics of ‘gender affirming’ medical interventions is an irrefutable example of the politicization of scientific research to further an ideological agenda. Deliberately mischaracterizing and withholding the results of the TYC study has serious implications for the health and safety of children who are subjected to ‘gender affirming’ medical procedures, many of which are irreversible and hold lifelong implications despite lacking adequate scientific support for their efficacy or safety.”

Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy not only has an ideological reason to hide the study results, but she and the other researchers also have a financial motive. Olson-Kennedy is the medical director for the Center for Transyouth Health and Development at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Her livelihood depends on the medical treatment of transchildren.

Psychiatric care, which is what these children need, would not pay Olson-Kennedy’s bills.

The whole of the Biden administration, the entire Democrat Party, has been promoting “gender-affirming care” for the past four years. All that will change with the new Trump administration.

More than a year ago, President-elect Trump said that the “left-wing gender insanity being pushed on our children is an act of child abuse.” He promised to:

  • reverse Joe Biden’s policies on “gender-affirming care”
  • sign an executive order that instructs every federal agency to cease all programs that promote the idea of sex or gender transitions at any age
  • ask Congress to pass a law prohibiting federal taxpayer dollars from being used to promote or pay for transgender hormone therapy or surgery and to pass a law prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states
  • declare that any hospital or health care provider that participates in the chemical or physical mutilation of children will no longer meet the federal health care and safety standards for Medicare and Medicaid and will be terminated from the programs
  • support a private right of action for victims to sue doctors who performed chemical or surgical mutilations of them as children
  • direct the Department of Justice to investigate the pharmaceutical industry to determine if they have covered up the long-term adverse side effects of sex transitions and will investigate whether pharmaceutical companies or others have illegally marketed hormones and puberty blockers without proper licensing
  • direct the Department of Education to inform school districts that if any teacher or school official suggests that a child might be trapped in the wrong body, they will be faced with severe consequences, including possible civil rights violations for sex discrimination and the elimination of federal funding
  • as part of the new credentialing program for teachers, promote positive information about the nuclear family, the roles of mothers and fathers, and celebrating the things that make men and women different and unique
  • ask Congress to pass a bill that establishes the only genders recognized by the United States government are male and female and that male and female are established at birth; the bill will also make clear that Title IX prohibits men from participating in women’s sports
  • protect the rights of parents from being forced to allow their minor child to assume some other gender identity without parental consent

The former President and current President-elect made these promises before the Biden Administration rolled out the Title IX revisions, so no doubt those revisions also will be immediately withdrawn. He also has said he would remove Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as well as trans acceptance from the military ranks.

All these actions, if implemented, would be a significant improvement over the way things are now. But they are only a start. Many states, including Illinois, have formalized gender insanity into state laws. It will be challenging to overcome the last four years of gender ideology burrowing its way into our laws and culture through the intentional institutionalization of these profoundly flawed views on sexuality.

We’ve had four years or more of children being indoctrinated by gender ideologues. We have a U.S. Supreme Court decision that protects gay and transgender employees from discrimination in the workplace based on its interpretation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Bostock v Clayton County). And we have just short of half the country who believe that men can become women and vice versa.

At least, that’s the way they voted.

While the Trump Administration will start pushing our culture back toward the historical understanding of sexuality—by historical, I mean throughout all of human history—getting us back on the right track is going to be a lot harder. Children and many adults need to be taught the truth.

In addition to rescinding the Title IX revisions, Congress must amend Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act to clearly define male and female as a way of negating Bostock v Clayton County. State laws have to be repealed. And we need to find some way to enlighten those who hold misguided views on sexuality.

It would be a huge help if churches actively take up the cause. Unfortunately, many churches have already sold out to gender insanity and don’t believe we were created male and female or that marriage is between one man and one woman.

Where does your church stand?

Maybe you should find one that will promote the truth.
