LaSalle County’s anti-Sharia resolution misses the mark. We need enforceable laws that uphold the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions and protect everyone’s rights to due process and equal protection from foreign or religious tribunals.

A nation cannot endure without secure borders, a shared language, and common values. When immigration is lawful and orderly, it strengthens America by allowing newcomers to integrate into our culture. But violent riots, obstruction, and collaboration with radical agitators are designed to weaken our republic and sow chaos.
