To Cover Up Education Disaster, Illinois Fudges “Proficiency” Standards
Illinois officials have unveiled a controversial new plan to "fix" the state's dismal student performance rates — by lowering the bar for proficiency. This is nothing more than a deceptive tactic to mask a growing educational crisis.

Mandatory Kindergarten and Eventually Preschool
State Representative Mary Beth Canty (D-Arlington Heights) is working to expand the state's compulsory school attendance laws in order to capture the hearts and minds of innocent and impressionable children. The bill she has sponsored is HB 3143.
