Most Americans think child trafficking is done by strangers in vans or overseas labor rings. The horrifying reality in our own country is that it often begins at home. Family members facilitate 44% to 60% of identified child sex trafficking cases in the U.S., with addiction frequently driving the abuse. We have to shatter the false stereotypes if we are ever going to protect the most vulnerable.
