Louisiana Dad Arrested for Poisoning Daughter with Abortion Drug

Most people are excited to become grandparents. I remember my own parents’ reaction to finding out that my husband and I were expecting. The joy and excitement were palpable.

Instead of experiencing the joy that comes with a new life and despite the shock of an unplanned pregnancy, a 17-year-old Louisiana mom endured the trauma that accompanied her father’s evil plot against her child’s life and a subsequent emergency c-section.

On June 12th, Jamelle Kelly was arrested for an unthinkable action: drugging his minor daughter with the abortion drug, Mifepristone. Due to the fact that Kelly’s daughter was well into her second trimester and therefore past the 10-week limit, the drug had even more deadly side-effects.

After being given the drug, Jamelle’s daughter was rushed to the ER where her baby was delivered and sent to the intensive care unit. Though not due for another three months, this tiny precious baby is still alive thanks to the amazing technological advances in medicine and the grace of God.

Though this story is shocking and despicable – especially given the fact that a father would commit such a heinous crime against his daughter and grandchild – this story is unfortunately more common than many realize.

  • In May of this year, a man was accused of poisoning his girlfriend and inducing an unwanted abortion.
  • In June of last year, a Texas man spiked his girlfriend’s drink.
  • In October of 2024, a man spiked a woman’s drink with abortion drugs to induce a miscarriage.
  • In August of last year, an Illinois man was arrested for drugging his pregnant girlfriend with abortion drugs.

These are just a few stories of many.

Due to the horrific Biden Administration “guidelines,” still in place, which no longer require an in-person doctor visit, angry and violent men are able to access this dangerous drug.

Essentially, anyone can access this drug online – and anonymously. No identification required. No proof of pregnancy required. No proof of age required. No ultrasound to determine the baby’s age required.

In addition to this, chemical abortion is illegal in the state of Louisiana. Meaning, this father was able to mail-order the abortion drug from out of state – further showing the unregulated and dangerous nature of the abortion drug.

Not only do these “guidelines,” or lack thereof, further the brutal murder of babies in the womb, they also directly put women in extremely dangerous situations with male abusers.

Anna Callahan of the Charlotte Lozier Institute warns,

“By stripping away safeguards like in-person dispensing requirements for abortion drugs, Biden’s FDA made it easy for bad actors to obtain these dangerous drugs.

Without seeing a woman in person, doctors can’t screen for medical complications, coercion or abuse. And when abortion drugs are ordered online, there’s no way to know if the person on the other side of the screen is acting freely, or if an abuser is lurking just out of view or even making the purchase himself.

This lack of commonsense safeguards has created an unregulated, dangerous market where anyone, anywhere, can get their hands on high-risk drugs.

The ones benefiting from this? Abusers and the abortion industry.

The victims? Moms and their unborn children.”

As a society, we must recognize the unethical practices of the abortion drug’s rampant use across our country that victimizes the preborn babies that die and often injure the women that take it.

As has been noted before, the abortion drug’s adverse event rate is at least 22 times higher than the FDA notes on the label.

This is inexcusable. The abortion drug must be completely removed from the market for the safety of women and preborn babies in every state.
