When Snail Mail Sends You to the Hospital

We all send emails because they are faster and more convenient than snail mail. We don't usually suspect that snail mail would send us to the hospital. However, for precisely this reason, one state representative is pushing for an electronic mail delivery system in the state's correctional facilities. In Illinois prisons, physical mail can get you high.

Is Marijuana Really That Dangerous?

On January 1, 2020, the recreational use of marijuana for adults over the age of twenty-one officially became legal in the state of Illinois. Proponents of the recreational use of marijuana are in the majority in America. Capping THC Levels in Pot

A bi-partisan group of State Representatives recently filed HR 700 at the Capitol in Springfield. This resolution calls for a cap on THC levels in retail marijuana. We are working the Illinois House members in hopes that we can better educate them on the consequences of high potency marijuana in our state.

God and Guns

I was, for a short time during college, a volunteer fireman, and my responsibility was to operate the equipment while more experienced firemen entered the burning building.  Following a fire at one house, another student who had gone inside told me how he stood in the smoke-filled kitchen spraying water at the flames to no avail.  It wasn’t until he realized that he was facing a mirrored wall and that the flames were actually behind him that he turned and was able to extinguish the fire.  As long as he was sending water in the wrong direction the fire continued unabated.
