The Clock is Ticking to Order Your Voter Guides…
By David E. Smith   |   02.11.16
Don't let the primary election be one that casts a shadow of "low voter turnout" on this critical day. This is your opportunity to bring your voice, your values and your vote to the polling booth! The IFI Voter Guide may be the only way you can get the information you need to make an informed decision.

Listed below, we have 18 different two-page local Voter Guides -- one for each of Illinois' Congressional Districts. By printing the two-page local Guide front to back on legal size paper (8.5" x 14"), you can easily make this a one-page handout, which you can then distribute in your neighborhood and local church.

David E. Smith

David E. Smith is Illinois Family Institute’s executive director.  He and his wife of 20 years are blessed to be the parents of seven children.

David has been interviewed for numerous radio, television and cable programs and newspaper articles on topics such as sex education, broadcast decency gambling, abortion, homosexuality, drug decriminalization and pornography.

From 1996 – 2004, he worked as an aide to a City of Chicago Alderman.  During that time, he was a volunteer decency advocate for the group Citizens for Community Values of Illinois, filing 70 indecency complaints over a period of four years with the FCC against a nationally syndicated radio shock jock based in Chicago.  His efforts resulted in fines totaling $300,000 against the radio station owner.

In 2005 – 2006, David led IFI’s referendum project to protect marriage , filing more than 347,000 signatures at the Illinois State Board of Elections.  Unfortunately, state and county employees discredited almost 70 percent of the names from the Cook County jurisdiction, bringing the final count to less than the required number needed.

An alumnus of the Family Research Council’s Witherspoon Fellowship, David graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.A. in Political Science.
