Illinois is on the brink of legalizing assisted suicide — and we are sounding the alarm. Activists label it “medical aid in dying,” but there is nothing compassionate about prescribing death. Suicide is neither ethical nor moral as medical care. Gov. Pritzker now has SB 1950 on his desk, and the stakes could not be higher.

Scripture commands us to rescue those “being led away to death.” Assisted-suicide laws do the opposite—they legitimize despair and fuel the deadly Werther effect of suicide contagion. Please pray and act to oppose this destructive agenda.

URGENT: Witness Slips in Opposition to Assisted Suicide Needed

State Representative Robyn Gabel (D-Chicago) and some of her colleagues are advocating for legislation that would permit physicians to prescribe lethal drugs for suicide. This proposal directly challenges the core medical tenet of "First, do no harm," and its passage would mark a deeply concerning ethical departure for Illinois, shifting the focus from health care to death care.
