America’s Political Skepticism

Gallup recently published some statistics about Americans’ trust in public institutions. The numbers aren't pretty. Less than half of Americans trust the legislative branch, the executive branch, the judicial branch, political candidates, the federal government's handling of domestic or international problems, or the mass media.

The Good News: Conservative Companies Still Exist

On April 1, 2023 (making many wonder if it was an April Fool’s joke), popular transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney shared a sponsored post in partnership with Bud Light with nods to March Madness and his continuing personal documentary, “365 Days of Girlhood.” In June of 2023, Target released its highly controversial Pride merchandise line, including “tuck-friendly” swimsuits for transgender “women” (biological men).

Snakes in the Grass

Things are truly upside-down. Christians, who have been scorned forever as weak and milk-toast, are suddenly public enemy number one. And while Christianity has been the source of thousands of American charities and the inspiration for hospitals, medical care, and education worldwide, it is now labeled by the Left as hateful and bigoted. A Return to Virtue in the Wake of Scandal?

The consequences of the secular worldview on sexuality are now coming to light as sexual harassment scandals explode into public view. As Christians, we can use this moment to encourage those in our spheres of influence to “rethink sex” in terms of human flourishing—and to point them to the One who gave us this gift in the first place.

Captivated by Technology

The average child today spends 53 hours a week in front of a screen. Have you ever wondered if media and technology have enslaved our generation? Could the greatest leap in technological advancement also have become the biggest setback in keeping us from the things that matter most in life? Has the world of screens, phones and all that comes with them become a technical utopia or a virtual prison? Is social experience more significant or shallow? Is technology all of these things or none of them?

These are the questions a remarkable new documentary called Captivated asks. The …
