Speak Out Against the Legalization of Assisted Suicide in Illinois

With the primary elections now behind us, our attention once again is focused on the Illinois General Assembly and a slew of pending bills that are decidedly anti-family. At the top of our list is SB 3499, the so-called “End-of-Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients Act.” This attempt to legalize assisted suicide is euphemistically referred to as “Death with Dignity”— don't be deceived by the spin.

The forces of darkness in Illinois want to take the state’s death agenda to the next level. Some deceived politicians have now introduced an assisted suicide—euphemistically referred to as a “Medical Aid in Dying” or “Death with Dignity”—bill in Springfield. A bill sponsored by Illinois Senator Linda Holmes (D-Aurora), SB 3499 creates the “End-of-Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients Act.”

Life is so precious, and the right to life recognized as a “natural” or God-given right, so much so that it was codified in our Declaration of Independence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Note that the “right to life” is given preeminence: without life no other right is necessary. And “unalienable” further emphasizes the untouchable nature of that right: mankind was gifted life by its Creator — the Lord …
