SUMMARY:One Nation Under God Springfield Prayer Gathering
DESCRIPTION:As we approach the 250th Anniversary of America\, there is much for us to prayerfully consider. Numerous events are being planned across the nation\, including a very significant one – the rededication of America as “One Nation Under God” on May 17\, 2026\, in Washington\, DC.  \nEven though we live in a post-Christian nation\, this rededication presents a timely and powerful opportunity for the body of Christ to come together in unity – to pray\, to repent\, to reflect\, and to discern how we can best strengthen our resolve to rise as good and faithful stewards of this decisive moment in time\, recognizing the urgency before us to help turn the heart of our nation back to God to preserve the Republic we’ve been given.  \nOur central calling remains clear: to continue the vital work of turning hearts back to God through Jesus Christ.  However\, we cannot rededicate a nation without rededicating ourselves to live according to God’s word and by His Holy Spirit. \nRepeatedly\, the Israelites strayed and became indifferent to God\, slipping into self-centered living. Their pattern in very familiar in our own day and time.  \nPraise God that He is patient and merciful\, not wanting any to perish but all to repent and turn back to Him. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is a powerful reminder of what’s required by God for Him to bring about the healing our nation is so desperately in need of. \nWithout a spiritual awakening\, our government will continue to be led by those who have little or no knowledge or reverence for our Creator\, the true source of our inalienable rights.  \nNow is the time for us – the body of Christ – to seek forgiveness and God’s wisdom and to chart a clear path forward in order that the fear of the Lord and the wisdom of God may once again shape and influence our government. \nPlease join us in Springfield for prayer along with pastors\, legislators and citizens. \nWHEN: May 20\, 2026 \nWHERE: Capitol Complex Visitors Center (west of the Stratton building and Capitol)\n                425 S College St\n                Springfield\, IL \nTIME: 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM \nSponsored by State Senator Chris Balkema\, Illinois Prayer Caucus Network and Illinois Family Institute.
